What rear speakers would you suggest?

Our current system consists of Beolab 9s and 7-4 in front and Beolab 1s in rear. The fronts are blue. The rears are red. I would like the rear speakers to be blue also. We have tried our pair of red 6000s as rears and do not like them as much as the 1s. I have been considering 8000s as everything I read about them is that they are fantastic speakers. The tweeter and woofer specifications are almost the same as the 6000s however.

Would the 8000s sound closer to the 1s or closer to the 6000s? Any benefit to the 3s?  Which would they sound closest to?

I had a B and O repair person tell me several months ago it is possible to change the color of the 1s by ordering new outsides for them. Any ideas on cost of this? Is it possible? Would the blue the BL1s came in still be available and if so how close to the current blue is it?

    Thanks for any input.

Comparing any of the other column speakers to the BL1s is a bit unfair in my mind. They have so much more power and volume. I don't have any of the column speakers and have never heard the BL1, so don't take me too seriously!

If it were me I think I would keep the 1s, your ears are used to their sound and nothing will ever sound the same if you change.

I have the Beolab 9s and 7-4 in front and i use the Beolab 8000s in the rear. I am  very pleased with them. And i think they are more beautiful  then the Beolab 1s. But that is of course personal.

Our dealer insists that the 3s will sound the best so a pair of those is on its way to our home for us to try. Actually, to be more precise dealer is suggesting 3s with a rear BL2 in addition to our current sub.

Stick with the BL1s.  Great speakers!

Your Bang & Olufsen dealer will tell you how much the parts will cost and their availablity, and if you're handy / practical, you can easily do it yourself > the BL1's build is quite simple.

The light blue would be a nice colour for your setup, then again silver is a colour you can't lose with! Stick with the 1's i'd also say, they're amazing in my opinion, and could be later used in other applications, and as rears they're by far the punchiest sounding out of all the speakers you've mentioned above.

btw, 8000's fall between the 6000 and the 1's, but the sound impact is closer to the 6000's than the 1's, i found

The 1s are wonderful as rears but I do not like having blue 9s with red 1s. Also, I want to move the 1s to another room in our house as fronts. That's why we are trying different new speakers for the rears.

Have you considered wall mounting 4000's? they'd be at a great height and have a powerful sound. If you wanted more oomph in the rear you could even hide a subwoofer with them...

I have considered wall mounting 4000s. Also have considered adding a sub with the rears. I was thinking maybe a blue 11 with the 3s.

Would the dark blue that was available when the 1s first came out still be available?
