    speaker setup

I now have a BV7 with Beolabs 8000 as fronts and Beolabs 4000's as rears , optoma hd projector and screen.

I would like some advice on weather to add Beolabs 6000 or 4000's Preferably wall mount them. and whether i could change the sound so that different speakers could be the front

    Thanks in advance

I take it that you have a BS3 based BV7 and have two viewing positions, one for the TV and one for the projector. BL4000s would be my choice - I think they sound better though wall mounted 6000s (and 8000s!) do look good. If it is a BS3 system, you can swap the front speaker choice.

    Re: speaker setup

i got stuck with this originally also

So configure your tv setup in the normal way via the options.

to set up speakers for projector mode (format 0) you need to have the display on the projector and you set the settings for this mode while using the mode.

    Re: speaker setup

OK assuming you hve your projector all connected make sure you have set up generic projector under:

Menu > Options > Connections > Display 2 (mine is set to Projector Generic and set resolution)

Then with the tv DTV or DVD on select format 0 and the curtains close and should open on your projector

    Once in there:

Menu > Options > Sound > Speaker Typres / Projector Speaker Roles etc

    Hpe this helps

If format 0 is not doing anything its normally because you have not set a proector against display 2 in the menu

    Re: speaker setup

ok so under the projector menu can you select generic

If no generic just pick one of those projectors and see if you get an output which you shoudl as its just Video beging sent over the DVI.

Choose one of those projectors and save

once saved use list on the beo4 and get format in the display and press 0 this will swap the display to the projector output.

    Re: speaker setup

when you say TV goes off does the red standby light come back on?

Format 0 shoudl close the curtains and then the curtains open on the projector.

Have you got the projector switched on before you press format 0

    Re: speaker setup

well thats me stumped as i have never seen WAIT on mine before.

when i press format 0 the curtains close and display sway to output 2.

Maybe your software is older or maybe some of the timers have been changed.

You could call a beoliving dealer for some advice i find they can be quite helpful but that does depend on if they want to talk to you because I find Beoliving dealers only like to talk abotu the correct equiptment that they sell.

Most other dealers dont have much info on the use of a projector as B&o like there beoliving dealers to support it.

Maybe someone else on here could be of some help as i think i am now stumped.

    Seanie:

Yes it is but that doesn't stop people trying to use it for output Wink

As you've said before seanie, according to the BV7-40 MK1 manual, pressing format then 0 should switch the projector output on. I get the same 2 projectors listed on my menu and that's it, no other options available.

My Bv7 has a 15pin connector the same as you use for computer monitors, is that a serial connection?

I'll upload some pictures of my menu screens in a little while, if that helps

    Hi there

OP have you connected your Projector to the DVI or VGA

Try and connect it to the VGA as the DVI is an input on ealier models.

    Re: speaker setup

Thanks Craig for the pictures there are what I have on my BV7 -32 MK1

It appears my current set up is hdmi connected to a splitter then to Sky HD and PS3

Sky HD is connected to the DVI

if you connect it to VGA would you not lose the HD quality ?

This may be why FORMAT 0 is not working for me.

If I have to use VGA connection then I will have to get a long lead as my projector is on a ceiling mount.

Do you have IR connected to control the projector via BEO4
