help please - BS 3000 problem

    Hi Forum,

I have a problem and before taking my kit to the local B&O dealer thought I would pick your collective brains if I may. My BS3000 is connected to my Avant via an ML cable. The Avant set up as Option 2  and the BS as Option 0, hnece the Avant controls the BS and the sound for the BS is via the avant (i have no other speakers).

For some reason the BS has simply stopped working, the red light is on, but the doors do not open automatically and pressing buttons on the BS or the beo4 has no effect at all. The cd or radio do not work.  I have tried resetting the options but this does not seem to make any differnce, the BS does not seem to respond at all (i.e the confirmation double flash of the power light does not happen)

so does anyone have any ideas ? any suggestions at all would be most welcome

    mant thanks keith

Have you tried switching it all off at the mains, leave for a minute and switch back on again?

If you have not already, unplug it from the mains and also unplug the ML socket. Leave for 5 minutes and then try plugging it in unconnected. Set it to option 1 and see if it now works. You can sometimes get a block on Masterlink which just stops something from working.

The other thought is a PIN code issue - does yours have a pin code?

Thanks Guys i will give that a try. I must admit i did not know PIN code was in use and if it is i would not know what it was.

Probably a Masterlink issue. Mine did this when I got my Beolink PC2. The TV keeps a log of the errors but you need to go into the service menu and it is all gobbledygook to me!

Why do you think we asked Graham to be a technical adviser! He really knows his stuff. And he is getting quicker! Laughing Our posts seem to be at the same time - I am scanning at the same time so I am posting slowly so don't notice the other post! I wouldn't usually post after such an informative post!
