AM/FM Antennas needed for Beomaster 5500 (USA)

Finally have everything working in my Beosystem... except AM radio.

Whats the easiest/cheapest way to get my AM radio working? A certain part on ebay? Something from Radio Shack? Sorry, I'm clueless here...

I don't have an FM antenna either, so getting that working (more stations!) would be great.

    My priority is AM though.

    Thank you!

I would ask yor nearest B&O dealer. I know they still sell the FM antenna so I see no reason why they won't sell the AM ones too.

You should go for an active (powered) B&O AM antenna

I use one daily in Holland for BBC R4 LW and difference is quite remarkable.

From the spec on Beoworld I don't see a 110v version so you may need a stepdown tranformer.

    Some of my B&O: BV3/32, MX7000, MX5500, LX5500, MX4000, BM8000, BM6000, Overture, BL8000, BM6000 Quad, BM4400, BM3400, BG-CDX, BM3000, BM1001, BM1200, BM1600, BM1700, BM1500, BM1400, BM2400, BM2300, BM4500, BM4000, BVM70, BVS45-2, BVS60, BC7700, BM2200, BM1900, BG8002, BM1202, BVPenta, BVP45

I have a call in to B&O... they are calling their repair shop (?)...

I have seen that AM antenna, and while it looks amazing, and i'm sure preforms great, I have a feeling it is more money than I want to spend right now.

I would think there would be a cheap alternative for sale at Radio Shack... I really just want to listen to baseball games and NPR. Amazing sound quality is not a priority (yet) here...

What can I ask for at Radio Shack, or on ebay to get me something that works?

Thanks for your suggestions so far.

The FM antenna is now sold as a part for the Beosound Ouverture/3200 systems but will fit your beomaster by simply not using the extra bracket which comes with it & clipping it into the "V" at the back. The only thing with AM antenna's is finding one with the correct 2 pin plug, there's a genuine B&O one on ebay USA.

Long bit of wire and some Blu-Tac actually works surprisingly well!!
