    A8's faulty

I've had a pair of A8's in a drawer for ages.....one earphone doesn't work. I'm sure people have encountered this problem before.

Anyway thoughts about being able to repair it? Do they come apart?

I've wriggled the wires in all directions possible with no luck. Is it possible for one earphone to just stop working?

    Thanks

    Ben

I'm on my second pair - both have lost sound to one speaker due to the flimsy wire breaking

Natural flexing around the plug does it

It's just a matter of time.. I use the A8 a lot, every day

Could be an earphone has gone in yours, seems unlikely...

Anybody offer any tips on rewiring these things???

I've done a few minor soldering jobs, but these wires are so fine.. Erm

Maybe inquire with your nearest dealer Ben? Mine kindly offered to have them repaired, no prompting required (thank you Steve!).

I'm not sure mine will be as kind.......but I suppose it would be worth a try. I dare not try to take them apart myself as I don't want to cause more damage...

    Thanks!

Yep they have a 3 year warranty now ---- and if they're out of warranty, they are only 75 AUD to fix this problem.

B&O changed the length on the cord for the Form 2 due to customer complaints. Maybe they could listen up again and re-spec the cord on the A8. (hintity hint hint Struer!)

This is an introductory product for a lot of people, these problems are not sending out the right messages. Especially at such a high price point!

It's not the length of the cord that's the problem, it's that the cord is insanely feeble.

Basically if you use them daily, as I do, they will break, because just flexing the jacket is enough.

If my third pair croaks, maybe I'll seek to do the seemingly impossible : wire in a decent quality cable.

    These are £115 now?

    Re: A8's faulty

I realize that cord length is not the problem in the case of the A8s, I was just making the observation that B&O does pay attetion to customer complaints (by example of the Form 2 cord shortening) and that this attention should now be focused on fixing the issue with the A8s.

    For me they are $160.

I really want a pair in greenHmm

    My green pair .... :D

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*
