A quick question  - are the S55s fitted with a captive cable or a DIN 2 pin socket?  Checked this site and Beocentral but no information.  I would guess it's a 2 pin socket, but need to be sure.

It needs a 2 pin socket - the S45 had a captive lead.

Looking for an interim solution for the 8000/8002/9000 system  that is contemporary with it.  I've sourced a good pair locally with refoamed drivers and, after all,  S120s and MS150s don't crop up that often.  They will be better than the CX100s I'm currently using!!!! (Gross quality mismatch I know, but domestic harmony needs to be maintained at least for the next few months and I've my Sennheisers for more serious listening)
