    Problem with my Beovision 4200

I had a power down for a few hours from the electricity company today. When the power returned I switched on my BV 4200 but it shows "WAIT" on the black screen and does not accept any signal from the Beo 4. After 4-5 minutes it turns Off by it self.

Has anybody an idea what is wrong?

Hello Lakis, "Long live" DEI. Most probably some PCB failure but I'm not an expert. I assume that you are in Greece. Which town located? Best regards Spiros (Thessaloniki)

    Best regards

Do you have a PIN number set up? Just had a scan through the service manual which is most unhelpful - in common with most service manuals it merely says replace modules or the main chassis!!

Re: Problem with my Beovision 4200

Hello Peter, you are right it was related to the PINCODE. This morning when I switched on the TV again I was asked to set the PINCODE and when I set it, it started working normally.

Then I searched for the reason and I found out that yesterday after the power failure, my son had tried to set the PINCODE unsuccessfully by 5 attempts and the TV was locked, not responding to any command for 3 hours.

(This is just for an experience to the forum)

    Thanks and regards. Lakis

The moral of this story is............disable the PIN code, it can only lead to trouble in the future.

Just make sure that you keep your home contents insured!!

    Regards Graham

It's a good lesson for me as well. Kids are now grown enough to be able to play around with Beo4s!!!!!!!! But it's good to know just in case. Telos kalo, ola kala!

    Best regards
