    BeoWorld Awards.. Discuss!

    The BeoWorld Awards 2010..

Although the original thread is locked (so as not to get bogged down!), here's a thread where you can discuss your nominations or suggestions..  Big Smile

Please, please do vote though. We have a lot of great people on here that give their time freely and ask for nothing in return.  This is the chance for you to say 'Thank You' and get them the recognition they deserve.

As usual, this is always tricky as there are so many people one would want to say thank you to.

Lee for keeping the site and the draw going, Keith for a staggering amount of technical work that goes on behind the scenes, Martin for knowing more than anyone else!, all the moderators for all the unsung duties that means that the site just works.

However there are also the members who contribute massively to the site with insightful comments or the offers of help to complete strangers. When this site first started the forum was very quiet and the few of us around felt compelled to answer every thread. These days answers are almost instantaneous and helpful from a huge number of sources.

I would urge as many people as possible to vote - it certainly makes the team feel good when we see that members care about the site - and vote for members, not just the usual suspects! I am afraid the original Beoworld trophy was nicked back by me and is performing sterling work as it was originally intended to do on one of my Beograms! I'll me interested to see what the new one will look like!

    So please - everyone vote!

That gets amazing sometimes, the answers come often in minutes. If there's no reply within a day, the problem is usually something very strange. Most commercial help desks are much worse!

I do look at plenty of other sites, and this one is by far the fastest at answering questions and solving problems.  Not sure what formula we have, but it appears to be the right one!

Well said Peter on all you posted - i couldn't agree more.  Apart from the Prize Draw etc - it's not that bad i assure you.  Owning LifeStyle AV is a godsend though - as i can get some pretty brilliant prizes for BeoWorld at trade prices or less!  If i didn't have that to rely on, i'm sure the prizes wouldn't be quite what they are now!

Obviously, i am exempt from voting too - but apart from doing the 'necessary' in the background i really don't deserve any recognition anyway.  I don't want to sway anyone, but we have some people on BeoWorld that have either helped immensely this past year or have made me laugh out loud plenty of times!

My vote is in. So hard to choose... I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your contribution to this fantastic site! so here it goes:

    Thanks, Beoworlders!

Beoworld's twenty-eighth ninth prize winner and fifty-first second prize winner. Best £30 I've ever spent!

Oh that is for sure the most difficult thing to do. There are quite a lot people in here that help so much. I will surely vote, but i need some time to think on it!

    I do!

Members + Beoworld = best forum on the netSmile

I agree with the previous comments, the membership is brilliantly knowledgable & unerringly selflessly helpful that it is becoming increasingly difficult to single out any one person. A few years ago there were a few who stood out amongst us but the standard of the membership is now so high it is nigh on impossible, to me you are all stars. So I will use a method which has served me well down the years & simply vote for whoever sends me the biggest bar of chocolate Big Smile

Votes are in. I suspect there will be an inevitable tendency for votes to focus on the english language sections of the site. I have managed to include a vote for one non-english language contributor (even though I might not know exactly what he is talking about half the time even viewing his posts via Google translate.)

On reflection, I don't know what half the english language posts are about anyway! Whistle

I think the really important thing is to decide what a physical award would look like if it were to be produced. I would suggest a golden BeoVision 7 on a pedestal with a software update cable and laptop behind it.

    Re: BeoWorld Awards.. Discuss!

Thank you so much for all your votes!  I've been away for a couple of weeks and have spent most of the day counting the ones cast whilst i was away!!

There's still time for more votes, and some awards are almost neck and neck - so please do make the difference and show your appreciation for the people that make this site what it is.  They give up a huge amount of their time for you, so give a little of yours for them by voting Smile

Four days until the lines are closed - so hurry!

    Re: BeoWorld Awards.. Discuss!

Just counted the latest batch of nominations (thanks everyone) and i can confirm we are LEVEL votes on one of the four awards. It's neck and neck for the Most Entertaining Member !!

We cannot have a tie as we only have four trophies to give out - so PLEASE, those who haven't yet voted - VOTE NOW !!!

All you have to do is cut and paste the following, with your nomination after each category...

    MHM -

    MEM -

    MVC -

    MOY -
Then once you've done that, send to beoworld2010awards@me.com
It's that easy to break the deadlock and get someone you appreciate an award! Yes - thumbs up

    Only 6 hours left..

If you want to join the hundreds of people who've already voted, you don't have long!

This is my last reminder - after the deadline no more votes will be accepted and the lines are closed.
