BV10 46'' customers/members feedback ?
Hello dear beofans,
I wish I could get some feedback regarding the BV10 46''.
- Are you happy with the sound and picture's quality ?
- Is the picture issue on the BV10 40'' still resolved on the 46'' version ?
- Is the 46'' version using larger speakers (bass, medium, treble) than the 40'' one ?
- How much did it cost you ? (In France, price starts from 8980 euros to 9500 euros without negociation. That includes the motorized floor stand /790 euros and anti-reflection screen/1000 euros + Beo5/ 500 euros)
I like this TV and wish to get some more informations.
Cheers in advance,
Guy

Re: BV10 46'' customers/members feedback ?
Hello,
Thank you both of you for your information.
Is the price list in euro currency ?
I am tempted to get the BV10 46, but I need to be sure that the technical issue encountered in the 40'' is resolved on the 46''.
Cheers,
Guy

The 46" uses top and buttom leds, compared to the 40 inches which have led all around the lcd panel.
The newest software update for the Bv8-40/bv10-40 should fix a lot of the issues regarding clouding.

Hello dear beofans,

Didn't I just start a thread on "getting feedback on the BV10-46 a week or so ago? That's what the search option is for :)
In that thread, the picture issue was concluded to be solved, the 46" has no different speakers/audio and that everyone agreed it had excellent picture quality. Sound is no better than the 40".

Re: BV10 46'' customers/members feedback ?
I got mine about a week ago..
I like it. I'm still not totally converted to LCD, but it's the best image i've seen on an LCD panel and it looks much nicer in my lounge. It replaced a BeoVision 9 - which i still think is an astonishingly good TV, and is better than the 10-46.
Image quality on the 10-46 is very natural and has great detail in HD. The sound still isn't impressive, but i dont really care as i have BeoLab 9 and BeoLab 3 - i put it on Speaker 4 for most things anyway (i know, blasphemy! LOL)
As for pricing, i'd say it was at the more realistic end of the scale - although it's still a lot of money for what it is. The stand looks to me like a chopped down version of a 7-32 - but to stop anyone sawing down a secondhand one and beating the system, they've put a different connection on it. Bah...
Am i pleased with it? Yes - I am. It looks beautiful from every angle and i've yet to see another brands LCD come close on PQ. Sound.. well, you're not going to make it sound amazing when it's so thin - so i didn't expect too much. That said, it's perfectly acceptable and still beats other brands i've heard. I suppose i'm spoilt !!
Would I recommend one? If you're looking for a 'new' TV or want something a little more elegant - then yes, i would. However, a used BeoVision 9 would be my choice if i had the space and setting. I'll miss mine, really - but my new house (although bigger) has a longer but narrower lounge, which just couldn't carry it off. The 10-46 is perfect.
From my own perspective as a pre-owned dealer, the 10-46 should retain it's value very well for the next few years - so it's not quite the same 'let's flush a suitcase full of cash down the toilet' decision as a brand new BeoVision 9...
Hope that helps. It probably doesn't, but at least i've had a good waffle..

Re: BV10 46'' customers/members feedback ?
@Moxxey : you are right, next time I will make a search, BTw thanks for your answers, I'll check for your post. So the technical issue won't appear on the BV10 46, good news.
@ Lee, thanks for your detailed feedback. It would replace my old Avant TV wich I think is a little bigger, but remains a very good TV.BV9 would have been a great choice tho', but those two products don't play in the same league, price difference is important between both of them. As for the sound of the LCD, I have my set of B&O loudspeakers who would do the trick and eventually compensate the lack of performance BV10 46'' offers. At the end, if this LCD retains its value other the next few years, that will be a interesting for the second hand market.
Cheers,
Guy

Re: BV10 46'' customers/members feedback ?
I'd go for a secondhand BV9 given the choice, but the 10-46 really is a very good TV. Image quality is better on SD with the BV9 (IMO) - but on HD there's not much between them.
I do think the picture on the BV10 'flows' better (if that makes sense). It just seems smoother somehow..

Don't laugh, but i did.. then his wife said she hated it - and out of sympathy for his plight i let him have the Blu-Ray 7-40 plus some money back!
I'd still have the BV9 today, honestly - but it just dominated the room so much it looked like an elephant with a lamp shade on it's head..

Sounds interesting - care to tell us more? Did a dealer tell you this, or have you experienced it yourself?

9 LEE: looked like an elephant with a lamp shade on it's head
should I take offence at that ?
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

I didn't have to
She knows I am crazy
And in any case I often call her over to see other Beoworlders' homes so she knows I am elephant and she has met fellow fans
In fact Wings from HK once christened us ellie-phant and ollie-phant

Re: BV10 46'' customers/members feedback ?
Nothing to do with Elephant's new approach to lighting ..........
Saw a report in last week's Sunday Times (or was it the week before- my better half has disposed of it!) comparing LED televisions. From recollection Samsung did very well/ were declared best choice, but there was a Philips LED panel with back positioned switchable LEDs that was declared superior to all in terms of getting black blacks etc and the suggestion was that this LED configuration was better than the edge lit screens.

Re: BV10 46'' customers/members feedback ?
Hello, suddenly I learned how to upload a picture . Here is the instant installed BV10-46. I have the Gyro 14 Luxe as installation arm on the wall. I can take photos of that later. So far everything is working well be I haven´t had som much time checking it. Until now only the Canal Digital PVR is installed, later a DVD, BM5 and linksystem will be connected. Brgds Ingvar
