    BV7-32 - the poor relation ?

I'm looking at replacing my elderly Avant 28" with a BV7.  The 40" is the ideal since it has the latest BeoSystem3 built in but the size really isn't needed.

Can I have some opinions from BV7-32 owners on the quality of the product and image / sound - and are you happy plumping for the poor relation in the BV  7 family ? Especially if the purchase was more recently when the difference in capabilities was more apparent between the 32" & 40"

28" to 32" is a sensible jump, but 28" to 40" is going to dominate the room. We sit between 2metres and 4 metres from the screen.

i did exactly your swop and would do it again in a heartbeat, do it, its fine, a full HD 37 just isnt needed, i actually prefer the picture on the 7 rather than the Avant, i did however buy it without the DVD and bought a Sony Blue Ray for £200.00, dont regret that either !!

    Thanks Andy

So from a picture quality (blacks /motion blur etc) no regrets ? As you have the 7.4 - what external speakers do you have ?

Rain & Melbourne are synonymous ..... I have been swimming on christmas day one year and trying to keep warm the next ...

    Re: BV7-32 - the poor relation ?

i have 4000s as fronts, 6000s as rears and a 2 as a sub, the room is about 12ft by 10 so its massive overkill..lol...but if i ever move !!....

no regrets at all, i had my doubts as i was going from an avant, as you say, but i have not seen any bad movements at all, and would recommend it

andy...and you can run a pc through it !

I am pretty happy with my BV7-32. My viewing distance is relatively close (2.5m) so i think it is what i need at present time. My setup is a BL7-1for center, 2 BL8000's fronts and BL4000's for rears. My next addition will be either a BL2 or a BL11. Both picture and sound quality are brilliant. Lack of HDMI ports are a headache though(solutions so exist of course).

    Re: BV7-32 - the poor relation ?

I've owned a BV7-32 for four years now and haven't regretted it a single day. True, the BV7-40 is more advanced from a technical point of view. But, especially with the BL7.1 (or 7.2 in case of the 40") I think the 32" just looks so much better than the 40"! The double stand on the 40" destroys the finesse of the combination, IMHO.

Stuff like HD, HDMI and such. Well, fact of the matter is that it's not really needed on a 32". So you won't miss it, I guess. I know I haven't ever missed it. And when I see what good DVD's are capable of on the BV7-32, I really can't imagine it getting any better by having a higher resolution on a 32" TV.

If my telly would be stolen and I'd have to buy another one - it would be another BV7-32. Even if it would be the same price as the BV7-40, I would take the 32. For me, the 32" is the true BV7.

Oh, and... the 32" has the classic B&O red display. The 40" is using a blueish display Wink. At least, my father's got a blueish display. I don't like it...
