Pssst..... I won a TV!
Beoworld's monthly Prize Draw was on a Friday last month and yay I was in. Unfortunately my home network was playing up - it worked sometimes then died. Each time I tried to get online during the draw it refused to play ball & I was missing all the fun. Finally, I managed to get online just as Botty was announcing the winner of the 2nd prize.....at least I'll see who wins the 1st prize.
"And the winner of first prize is.....STONK!"
Even though the odds of winning a major prize as a Gold member are quite high in comparison to probably any other draw you still don't expect it. I was absolutely gobsmacked.
Anyhoo. Got my official e-mail from Lee. I paid my postage (not many do this apparently) and waited for my new toy.
The next week a UPS van pulled up outside and out jumped a smiley chap dwarfed by a huge black box wrapped in black plastic. The tape gave it away..

Re: Pssst..... I won a TV!
Took off the remaining packing and ta daaaaa. There it was. Once plugged in it demanded to be fed with a PIN before play. Argh no PIN. Too late to phome LifstyleAV I'll have to PM Lee but as it's after hours now there's no way he'd know the PIN until work tomorrow. Lee responds later, calls himself a plank for not remembering to put it in the box and tells me the PIN Now I'm good to go.

Wonderful TV! It looks fab in your kitchen.
Beoworld's twenty-eighth ninth prize winner and fifty-first second prize winner. Best £30 I've ever spent!

Re: Pssst..... I won a TV!
Now, we need to swivel the TV to watch whilst preparing food etc so we'll need a stand. Initially although my wife loves the TV she felt is was a little too big for the kitchen. I put that down to the change from our old smaller kitchen TV but my plans are to wall mount it - plus I'm leaving it where it is for the moment - she'll get used to it The cable isn't yet hidden as I was too keen to fire the TV up.

Well done, Sonk!
I recall mentioning in another thread how much I like your kitchen. Beautiful!
P.S. Keep the butter away from the screen!

Re: Pssst..... I won a TV!
Thanks Koning & Beocool.
Last one is just a shot of me with my new toy. Apologies for not dressing up for the occasion but I was far too busy
Thanks so much to Beoworld, Botty and most of all the Random Number Generator It's amazing what you can win for £30 or £2.50 a month!
Gotta be innit to winnit!!

The handles on the lower cabinets are for tieing off the bridle's reins.

I mentioned the horse-stuck-in-house-released-with-butter story only once & now I'm stuck with it for life!! I guess I've no chance for street cred on here any more

You should know these things stick - just ask Professor "Ripper" Langstand!

I have already initiated a collection for the tombstone engraving.
P.S. Do you plan on linking the TV, or will it remain free standing?

Prof 'Ripper' Lampstand will have to have a huge tombstone
If all goes to plan we will be moving house so certainly for the moment it will be free standing.

What is the benefit in linking the TV's? Is that you can watch what's on the main tv on the second tv? What if you are watching a blu ray, does it work that way? Or does it have to be sending a 'lower quality' signal?
Regards
Michael.

It could be far worse Steve - you could have been awarded with a brand new terminology named after yerself. I refer to the word "Mobed" meaning destroying a perfectly sound piece of B&O by trying to fix a simple fault - named of course after our esteemed member "mobeyone" (who is missed by many lately)......... Having said that, "Stonked" has quite a nice ring to it & conjures pictures of somone laying face down in the gutter outside Spearmint Rhino's at 3am on a Sunday morning
Congrat's on your well deserved prize mate - it looks great in your kitchen.
Chris.

Re: Pssst..... I won a TV!
Thanks all.
@ Chris: You're right it could be worse! I recall you are remembered for that shirt!
@ Mika: Yes, caught me out with the phone. In my defense we did have a Beocom2. It looked great but hideous to use and was sold quite quickly. Loving the S***s

Yeah - I had one of those for about 3 days. Horrible ring tone which set my dogs off howling & totally rubbish to use, especially at 4am on a Sunday morning to order a curry after crawling out of the aforementioned gutter.
It wasn't all bad though, I made £100 on it
Chris.
PS - that's you added to Puncher on "R" lasses hit list for dissing the shirt she bought me. Your days are numbered my friend

Re: Pssst..... I won a TV!
Fabulous post
The unwrapping
The proud display
The great kitchen
Like a fairystory
Complete with Lee as the knight in shining armour riding to the rescue with the PIN
(shall we will forgive him for be a plank ? Yea verily !)
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*
