Hi
I am the happy owner of a pair of BL 4000s, but I would like to go for an upgrate soundwise. The thing is just that on my student budget, there is no room for BL 5s, so I see two options:
Either selling the BL 4000s and buying a pair of BL 3s or
Adding a BL 2 to the BL 4000s.
Which one of the two would give the best result do you think?
Thanks,
Thomas
I am a big fan of 4000s. I would say keep them and get the Beolab 2, or maybe the new Beolab 11.
Beovision 7-55 with Beolab 7-4, 9s and 4000s
Beovision 10-40 with Beolab 1s and 6000s
Beosound 1, 5, 2000, and 3000
Beotime, Beotalk, Beocoms
Hi, depending on your room size, you may not necessarily need a BeoLab 2, but a BeoLab 11 might be enough to give your 4000s a new life!
Reunion Island is greeting you!
If you mainly miss Bass you should go for one of the Subs. I preferred the BL3 over the BL4000 mainly because of the clearer treble. In a direct comparison it is like "opening the window" when you move from BL4000 to BL3 - clearer treble due to Acustic lens. Bass is like the same. BL4000 has a "warmer" sound.
BeoVision 8-40 / BeoVision 8-32 / Beovision 6-26 / BeoSound 3200 / BeoSound 1 / BeoLab 3 / Beolab 6000 / Beolab 2000 / Beoport / Beomedia 1 / 3* Beo4 /BeoCom 5 with VOIP
Thank you very much for your quick replies and good insight.
The room is only 4 x 4 meters, so you might be right about going for the BL11 instead.I think I'll go for one of the subs, but will go to my local dealer and have a listen to the different set-ups. I was actually considering buying the BL2 second-hand which should be about the same price as a new BL11... A listen should clear things up...
