    iPad and Beolab 4 speakers

    Dear Gang,

Just received my iPad 3G and I'm enjoying playing with it.  I'd planned to hook my BL4s up to the iPad via the iPad's keyboard / dock (via it's "line out" port), but in reading the instructions for the keyboard / dock, it says that volume must be controlled on the speakers themselves rather than with the volume up or down controls on the keyboard.  This is a bummer.  I'm not near my BL4s so I haven't tested this yet, but was wondering if any of you guys had and what your impressions were.

    TIA,

    Mark

    Razlaw,

I have now tried the BL-4s with the iPad (i.e. since I first posted the above question which no one responded to).  They sound great - though, I think I'll eventually need that "BL-3 rubber ring" solution which was reported here as a way to slightly lift BL-4s placed on a table top to increase their bass.

With regard to my original question, the BL-4's volume is obviously controlled on the iPad when they're wired directly in to the mini-jack of the iPad - this is the only way I've tried it thus far.  I haven't tried the keyboard dock's output mini-jack yet, but I suspect it'll work the same with the iPad controlling the volume via the iPad's screen as I know that the designated keyboard keys for volume (on the keyboard / dock) don't control the volume of external speakers according to Apple's press releases.

Glad it worked. I thought it should but was not sure. Hope you are enjoying the iPad as much as my wife and I enjoy ours.

Glad also to see that it worked.

I'm in NY on holiday at the moment and just been in to the 5th Avenue Apple Store and reserved an ipad.  I hope they notify me soon as i'm only here for 2 weeks.

    Hi guys!

Stop rubbing it in about the iPad  we don't have it hear in the uk yet lol! I was lucky to buy the white MacBook last month and oh my gosh it's one stylish piece of kit - I absolutely love it AND i've been able to get my Director's to buy me one at work as well - how spoilt I am?  Think the iPad and BL4's will look very stylish together! My BeoSound Century is getting very little use these days since my best friend bought me an iPod Nano last year!
