Beolab 4000 not coming out of standby

    Hi!

I have a pair of BL4000. When i turned on the system. One of them just didn't come out of standby. The red light didn't turn to green. I haven't used them for a while and when i come to. It just happened. I saw a listing on ebay saying,

    01 PCB MAIN SWITCH 663X

    Original part number 8006148

Could this be the part ? Can i do it myself. I'm a weekend technician. I think it's not that hard to do,am i too ambitious?

    Any input is welcome.

    Thank you.

I've had the same problem (consequetively, with both my BL4000's...) and in my case the problem was in the power transformer, according to my dealer. So it MIGHT be this switch you mention, but there are no guarantees I guess.

It may be worth talking to your dealer first to check costs of a genuine replacement part (he may be familiar with the problem) rather than something from ebay that might not work when it turns up ... or worse still creates further damage.

    Where are you based?

    Thanks for prompt reply

I'm in Thailand. I just felt that it is a slight problem that can be easily fixed. I succesfully replaced the CD mech on Ouverture. and i think this could be another venture. But if all of you say it's too difficult for DIY. I will take it to the dealer.

       Thank you for the comments.
