....... mean minded?
6 times this week I have reported other ebay sellers for copying & pasting my descriptions. 5 of them were to clearing houses such as auction4you or whatever thay are called. The other was another seller who deals in B&O quite often so should know better IMO.
It just really p***es me off that these people are too bone idle to put in a bit of effort for themselves.
The truth is though, if they were to ask me first if they can plagiarise my descriptions I would probably give them the go ahead. Just plain bad manners not to ask first.
Chris.

Far from mean minded Chris. As you say it is totally bone idle, why should you do their work for them. I always report it myself!

Sadly that is just the way some people are. If anyone has read one of Chris's iyem descriptions you can see how much time and effort has gone in to them. Why should someone else just copy and paste it for their own auction.

Hear, hear! You know how long it takes me to do anything, so when somebody sold a Beocom 6000 using my photo's, text, font and even colour scheme a couple of years ago, I was proper livid! It had taken me a whole Sunday afternoon to compose! I reported them after I had sent them a message and recieved a string of abuse. The ad was removed and the seller struck off.
Andy, I remember that. Also remeber the reply you got from the seller too. Some reference to you thinking you were William Shakespeare What a muppet!!!

Not just me then?
BTW if any fellow Beoworlders want to use my descriptions please feel free - just drop me a line first. My ebay user ID is similar to my Beoworld name (fat dog appears in there) so you'll know which listings are mine.

Since 2008 I have had an old school B&O thread on a Danish hifi site.
It mainly covers my B&O for 85% of the time. Its 41 pages to this day mostly in Danish but it shows up great on google.dk
This picture has been so far stolen twice as its number 2 in a picture search on google for Beovox CX100. First time it was set at £250 and second time a little less. Both times I contacted them and asked them to remove the picture which they did.
I even had a picture of my Tama drumkit stolen and the idiot saying it was his with plans to turn the hardware into gold. Again I notified him and he removed the picture.
On one end its humbling to see that your picture sells for a much higher price than you paid but its a pain because you are the true owner.

More than one Craig, several of Peters photo's appear in the product sections of both Beoworld & Beocentral - a real hunting ground for lazy ebay sellers.
Fortunately (for these people) Peter is far too busy/laid back for it to become an issue so they get away with it. I admit that it is somewhat flattering that your photo's & descriptions are so good that they get nicked but it still really annoys the hell out of me so I'll continue reporting them with the last breath in my body......

If i took a £1 royalty for every stolen image of mine - i'd be retired now.
I've given up.

Hi, Chris.
Imagine how I feel when I see my book photocopied by my students who have the stupidity or have the gaul to bring the photocopy into class!

Have you ever thought of marking them, like some Ebay sellers do?

Yes - it didn't make the slightest bit of difference. They just either cropped it out, brushed it out - or plain left it there.
I could spend all day trawling and reporting images, but it would be counter productive for me as i've got so much more to do.
