To be really nerdy, it's very late 2000 - probably first sold early 2001.
Either way, the BeoLab 2000 are bulletproof - you should have no problems with one of any age.

Very true: I've had a pair M-L connected in the Tropical South Atlantic now for 10 years + with no problems.
