Searching the web I found some blueprints of the upcoming new BeoSound at www.dkpto.dk design magazine isue 7. It´s a magazine for news patents in Denmark. The new BS is designed by Dawid Lewis. From what I can see it a pair of speakers and in the middle a docking station for an iPod.
It´s not magic - it´s Bang & Olufsen

Where should we be looking?
Here I guess ;-)
I'm not really impressed by this iPod base, to say the least...

I agree....
About time huh. This is way overdue IMO.
Although I will more than likely buy one, it's probably almost past its due date before it has been released

Yes definitely late to the party.
Gald to see it will have some muscle, it looks like it will have a decent level of output. Probably a little wider than necessary though. Those pegs/feet on the back side will certainly chatter on hard surfaces if they themselves are a hard material. To me this dock seems to be aimed towards performance (to be expected I suppose ) compared to the rest of them, most of the docks out there have tiny drivers.
Overall, I'm excited.
Oh, and thanks for psting the pictures!

One other thing I noticed... Possible MasterLink and PowerLink connecters?

Is this the audio product that will talk to BM5/BS5? I thought we would get another full blown audio system ....
Anyhow, if they price it like a BS1 it probably will do well.
I wouldn't want to judge the design from the drawing, I am sure in flesh it's awesome.

Ehlerz: ugly
I think that the Beolab 11 drawing above don't show it as a nice product, but it turns out that most people love it.
I think we should wait to see the real thing before making such judgments.

On a serious note, there is a huge market for iPod docks. Certainly can't hurt anything.
Exactly. Plus the ones out there now will simply not last, people wil change them out and buy another. I think this is for the second-time dock buyer

I must say I still don't understand the reason for using an Ipod dock at home with a B&O setup.
1/where does the Ipod/Iphone get its music from? Itunes, via a computer.
2/what computer software integrates to your B&O setup? BeoPort if you have a PC, BMLink or Linkplayer if you have a Mac. Given the cost of a BeoPort box, it will certainly not ruin you if you want to play your Ipod music, besides, it is not limited to the Apple players.
3/so why using an Ipod dock when you already have a PC software + application in your house to play your digital music?? It just doesn't make sense to me, it would be like asking for the release of a docking station for my Serenata..
Reunion Island is greeting you!
