    Weird beocenter 2300 problem

    Hello all,

Today I received my new set of speakers, the BeoLab 3. I connected it to a Beocenter 2300 that my parents gave me.

I just have a very strange problem: with the original BeoLab 2500 speakers everything works properly! But once I connect the two BeoLab 3 speakers to it, the glass doors won't close anymore. When I use an Ipod, CD or radio they just keep open. Once I plug out one of the power cables from one speaker, the doors close after about 20 seconds, and continues to play music. Once I plug in the power cable, the glass doors will open again .. (And this took long to find out why the doors did not close!) Both speakers are set correctly (left, right and wall).

Does someone have an idea whether this is a common problem, or that something is wrong. (The Beocenter 2300 from 1999).

    What can i do??

    Tnx!

I confirm that the problem does exist. I have seen it myself with the same combination.

The 2300 worked perfectly with other speakers and the BL3's worked perfectly with other Beocenters such as 9300/9500's.

In the event the 2300 and the BL3's were not sold together so the problem "went away"!

My guess, at the time, was that I needed to use Mk3 Powerlink cables. I never tried them as I didn't have any.

    That is still my guess.

My parents had that problem with a pair of Penta MK3's. Solution was to leave the Beocenter 2300 unplugged from the mains. Don't know how long, but overnight should do it.

Try this, before you get new cables. Powerlink MK2 was used with the pentas.

Found the problem. Tnx to beomaster8000!

The diode behind the left glass door and black panel was the problem. After putting some aluminum foil around it, the problem is almost gone!!

    Re: Weird beocenter 2300 problem

The problem that the glass doors wouldn't close is gone, but now i almost have to touch the place where te diode is to open them. So i have to be very close with my hands to the left glass in order to open them. Normaly you move your hand toward the beocenter and it opens the doors, but this is not the case anymore. But it's fine for me now. The doors won't open if i push play on the remote, and the doors close when i put it on standby by the remote and the cd-light goes off. And i use the aux (iphone) for music a lot.

This is not a cure to the problem. You have merely "adjusted" your 2300 with a bit of silver foil to suit your own circumstances.

A proper cure would still be interesting!

Does this problem exist with the BL3's placed further away from the unit, or facing a different direction??
