    Hi Fredrik,

both have masterlink and powerlink. powerlink is for connecting active speakers directly to the beosound and masterlink is for connecting the beosound with an B&O TV in one room (e.g. to realize a surround setup) and/or for connecting additional rooms.

Re: Witch one of Beosound 3000 and beosound 4 have best sound quality?

The FM radio in the BeoSound 4 seems better, and there also seems to be a change in the sound of the CD player, although I may be imagining things!  Confused

Both, as said have MasterLink and PowerLink. PowerLink is for connecting speakers, and MasterLink is for sending music around the house into different rooms.

One advantage the BeoSound 4 has in terms of MasterLink over the BeoSound 3000 is the ability to play two things at once. For example, in the main room, you could be listening to CD through the speakers, and then in a different room, you could be listening to the radio.

Also, the BeoSound 4 has DAB radio as well as FM radio, and an SD card slot for recording from CD/DAB/FM radio and playing back MP3s from your computer. The BeoSound 3000 has none of these.

Yes the BS4 has slightly better specs.

If, however, you prefer the BS3000 designwise, then I would take the BS3000.

The way to put a CD into the BS 3000 is much easier than to put the cd into the BS 4, I find it a little bit clumsy. Designwise I prefer the BS 3000. But the BS 4 has the ability to play tracks from a memory card, the BS 3000 doesn't have this feature.

I think there is no difference concerning the sound output between the two systems. The main differences are about handling and design, and about the radio, as Alex pointed out.

There is a difference in sound quality between the BS9000 and the BS4/BS3000.

I´m thinking that the BS3000 is a design ikon but old now, so the new BS4 is much more 2007 but a little to much plastc.. How much better is the sound from BS9000 then?

According to the specs they are the same?? Do the have burrbrown DAC or ?

I personally don't believe any of the modern B&O cd players sound any worse than any other and certainly not a reason to not buy any of them. If there are technical differences they are not obvious in the sound produced through any of the B&O speakers that I have ever had.

It has to be said that your chosen speakers have an enormous effect on the quality of the sound and any differences in the cd players pales into insignificance.

It's all a matter of taste I suppose........... the BS4 design is far more modern looking than the BS3000 design, technically I assume the technique is more up to date as well, the BS3000 is more common looking and the BS4 looks strikingly beautifull in any room.

Designwise I prefer the BS4, despite the rather odd way of sticking the CD between the glass door and the machine through a too narrow opening [if the door would open a bit further, it would make life a bit easier] the use of a memory-card is also a big plus.

The sound-difference between the two depends on your speakers I guess, they are really the ones which will produce the sound [quality]
