    iPad + Bang & Olufsen

I am planning  to  add (from april) an iPad to my Beosystem 4500 as  on line digital music source (iTunes, Spotify, etc)

I assume that connetions will be the same than from iPod, am I right?

Does anybody have this set up?

    Thanks

Looking at the specs for the iPad HERE, I would say yes.

This use of the ipad would be a cheaper version of the beosound 5, of which I love but can not afford at present. Maybe someone will come up with a stand thats like the one for the beosound 5. The ipad with itunes is a wonderful idea for digital music storage.

I was just thinking of the same thing.  I can picture the ipad on my dining room wall (pity it can't mount, or even vesa mount)... now, how to hook it up to BeoLab 4's Wink

As a BeoSound 5 owner, I'm picturing how ideal it would be for the iPad to have a B&O app that would use the iPad to mirror the BeoSound 5 interface. Imagine having the iPad on the coffee table or caring it into link rooms to be able to control the BeoSound 5. One could use a finger to flick throw the cover art on the iPad just as if one were using the wheel of the BeoSound 5.

Imagine B&O doing this from the start.... Yes - thumbs up Being able to lift off the screen from the Beosound 5! Wow! That would have been B&O magic for the 21st century.

The original concept was planned like that.

I remember reading an article where the designer envisoned that you take it off and walk around with at for an example a cocktail party.

I liked them more when the designer pushed harder on the engineering people, like they did with the BS9000 which was impossible.

Reassuring to know that cocktail parties are still alive and well in Boston!

I think 64GB flash, is not so much if you use WAV files.

I am envious.  I won't get delivery of an iPad for at least another 2 weeks because my wife insisted on the 3GS version.  She thought mobility was important.  She's right but I still have to wait.

I have a Beosound 5 and at this point I don't care if B&O comes up with an iPad app for it except for the MLGW app.  I use MOTS most of the time which does not need any intervention.

My wife thinks like your wife and also wanted the 3GS version. My eagerness to get one however won out and we decided to get each other one as a belated Valentine's Day gift, wifi for me and 3GS for her.  It just arrived and is syncing with iTunes as I type this. So far can say it looks beautiful, typical Apple product with a very clear image on the screen.

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*
