Well once again i'm floored by the brilliance of BeoLabs

Have just receieved my pair of Pearly Green BL6000's.
I was listening to the BL9's while i was putting together and placing the 6000's, expecting a huge adjustment for my ears.

Took the plugs from the 9's and put them straight into the 6000's, too easy. Put on the same CD i had playing and changed the Tone settings on BC2 (went from treble -4 & Bass -5 to treble +4 & Bass +1) until my ears felt familiar again. Very impressed to hear quite a similar tone and overall coherance and decent soundstage, obviously taking into consideration i don't get the same depth).

This takes me back to when i listened to BL5's, then went home with the same CD and listened to the 4000's appreciating their brilliance on a whole new level.

BL6000's are 18 years old - what a design and sound from it's constraints. Mindblowing.

So, Green Beolab 6000s... White Beolab 9s... and a red surround on the Beovision 3!!

    Italia Italia Italia!!!!

Are you setting up surround sound or Masterlinking for a different room with the 6000s?

The former most probably. I'm also the one who preferred my 1's to the 9's for their sheer physical impact (sound AND design). Besides that, when you set up Beolab 6000's, you do NOT expect the sound that they emit. The difference is much more apparent when the volume is raised, clearly, but that isn't really what i'm comapring.

Jonathan, i'm just putting them in my small bedroom with BC1. At the moment though, they are in the living room in place of the 9's because i'm enjoying their pleasant soft sound and easy aesthetics so much... and i'm just plain excited to have gotten them.

I too prefer the visual effect of BL1 vs BL9.If you are going to make a statement then make a STATEMENT!

Not sure I'd want the green 6000's though........but what a boring world if we all had the same taste.

Blue BL1's and 6000's are a different story!

Absolutely, my thoughts exactly regarding taste. Green can be a love or hate colour.

BL1's, in my smaller environment had a very physical and full sound. Certain types of rock sounded unbelievable up loud.

Yes, the dark blue was stunning too. I almost bought Blue 1's from Jason, but ended up going with the silver for availability reasons.
