    Soundproof is a CopyCat!

You will remember Peter's photo of his Beogram 4000 & Beolab&Beomaster 5000 combination.

When I got my Beolab 5000, I knew that one is supposed to combine it with the Thorens 3000 Bg-- but I kind of feel that having a Bg4000 with these units is great, both because it's all Jacob Jensen, but also because they really go well together.

So, there you have it: proof that Soundproof is a CopyCat. (Apologies for the cell phone photo!)
The Beogram 4000 is rosewood, which actually goes well with the darker, aged teak of the two other units, and also fits with the black side panels of same.

Congratulations! They look great together - as if they were made for each other. I think the Beolab 5000 set up was more futuristic looking that the BG 3000 anyway, so you have the perfect partners for each other!

What speakers are you driving with the 5000 setup? I really must hear a reconditioned one of these at some point!

Beovox S80.2 - on Tim Jarman's recommendation, as he felt they would be very good to get the best out of the amp.

But I'm also considering dedicating my Dynaudio Focus 140s to this setup. They are more compact than the 80.2s, and have wonderful sound relative to their size.

Very nice set up! Reminds me of something! Laughing

I think the S120s are a fair bit better than the S80.2s! Bit more bass extension. Ronny at B&O has told me that these are probably the best passive speakers made by B&O , all things taken into account.

As I am sure you all know by now, I use LS3/5As and these are wonderful.  Smaller than even  S45s although I do use the AB1 sub-woofers as stands which means they seem taller. Matches B&O very well - at least the decent stuff! Laughing

The S120s are larger, though. My spec to Tim was that I didn't have space for the Beovox 5000, so what could he recommend. And his retort was that a good pair of Beovox S80.2 would do the units justice. Good sound - but they do get outplayed by the Dynaudios.
