BV 6-22 as a link on ML

    HI

I have a BV8-40 as my main tv 4 link speakers and I have just bought a second hand BV6-22 for my bedroom with ML.

At present my music streams from iTunes via my AppleTV (connected to my BV8) through to all my link speakers and works really well.(on V.Aux)

I also have Sky HD on the BV8 which also will play audio to my link speakers on SAT setting

My question is this, how do I receive Sky over the ML to my BV6 in my bedroom and how do I receive music as  I do on my link speakers set to V.Aux.

I am really stuck so any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Si

As said in many, many other threads here you will need an analogue signal for distribution to linkrooms. Connect your Sky box via Scart - in addition to digital connections to your videomaster. Same with your aplle TV. Hope this helps.

    Ok sorry. Did you....

....connect the RF out of your main TV to the RF in of your BV6?

    ....connect the ML cable?

    ....set your BV6 to V.OPT 6?

...disconnect your videomaster from the mains for a few minute and reconnect?

    - BV6 need to be in V.OPT 6

    - Have you got an RF cable going from the BV8 to the BV6? This is needed to transfer the picture and low quality sound.

    - If you are only interested in sound, you can call use the AV button before you call your source.

Ok I now have sky and sound,  I hadnt set the BV6 to V.OPT 6

But still no music!  Phil says use the AV button before you call your source, I don't really understand that sorry for being a bit thick!!

My music steams from iTunes to my Apple TV then through ML to my link speakers which i set to V.Aux.

This is the last bit of the puzel, using the BV6 as a link speaker!

    Thanks

If your BV6 is off and you press V.AUX, what happens?

AV is a "virtual button" that appear by pressing the LIST button.

With V.AUX you should actually use A-V.AUX

If it is not in the list, you can add it:

1 Press and hold the standby button down. (The button with a red dot)
2 Press LIST to get access to the Beo4 setup function
3 Let go of both buttons. ADD? appears in the display
4 Press GO to bring up the list of available 'buttons' to add from. The first button appears in the display, it flashes on and off
5 Press the UP or DOWN button to move forwards or backwards in the list of all extra buttons
6 When A-V.AUX appears in the display, press GO to add it to the list

    Hi Phil

Wow what a star you are, works fantastic now!!

OK so to push things a little more, is it possible to watch my Apple TV connected to my BV8 via hdmi, optical and phono on my BV6 over the ML?

    Thanks again

    Simon

No - You need to connect it to the SCART. Either to the SCART only, but you lose HD, or to the SCART and HDMI, using some kind of splitters and a HDMI to SCART converter.

There are various threads talking about this, but I am not sure what is the recommended solution.

Re: BV 6-22 as a link on ML

I think the easy option is just to but another ATV and attach it to the BV6 via dvi - hdmi.

On another subject do you have any idea why I cant get the puc controllers to work on my BV8?  I have tried 3 different cable, all the settings seem ok but I cannot get sky to work on my Beo5.  It always worked fine on by old BV7 and now nothing!

One thing I was thinking of is  Ihave the software to program my Beo5, so if I set that up correctly will it controll ATV / Sky without a puc lead?

    Thanks again

    Hi Chaps

    Problem again!!!!!

OK This is only with sky - I released I had my Sky set up from RF2 on Sky box to BV6, So this is what I have done -

Connect RF cable to RF Out on my main tv (BV8) connected same RF cable to aerial input on BV6.  Sky is connected via hdmi AND scart and guess what ??? nothing on BV6!

I want to do this as I am going over to Freesat and there is no RF out on the Freesat box!

I guess its just a set up issue or am I being thick as usual!!
