  I'm wondering if anyone can help with an annoying thing my tv is doing.

 Ever since I purchased the set over a year ago when you turn it on the picture is ok but after a few seconds the picture goes and you get what I can only describe as horizontal interference and a terrible noise.This lasts anything from a couple of seconds to over minute, when the picture returns if you change channels it does it again.When the sets been on a while the problem stops.

While the sets having one of these fits, if you reach around the back and wiggle where the ariel goes into the set the problem stops but as soon as your bum hits the chair it starts again.

We watch sky connected through the scart, this works perfectly and has never had a single flicker of a problem.It just annoys the hell out of me when I see what it does on normal tv.

Any information or advice will be greatfully recieved.

I would suggest that there might be a cracked solder joint as this will manifest itself with temperature change. If you are not experienced in TV repairs, get a local repair shop to have a look for you. The voltages in the back of TVs can be lethal.

Very common for the tuner module to fail in these sets.There was a mod kit available that used an improved device,but it was quite expensive.Sometimes you can repair the module if you are confident soldering?

A dealer may well have a spare panel assembly,or even be prepared to replace the panel on a part exchange basis,sending the old panel back to B&O.This was how the system was intended to work,but I suspect many Dealers see a "profit opportunity" in simply replacing the panel at full price?!!
