    BC2 discontinued?

    Hello,

I was told yesterday by my salesman that the production of BC2 has been stopped 5 days ago. Can anybody confirm this?

Could this announce the end of production of the BS9000? I'm hearing is hardly sold nowadays. I will be a pitty.

While I can see that CD based music systems are selling slow this would leave a hole in their product offerings.

People are still watching DVDs and they need a DVD player for BV4 BV8 and BV10. I would rather assume we see the BS3200 disappearing before the BC2 rolls out ......

That said, I have one, I love mine and I will cherish it until it falls apart. Which it won't.

    BS9000, BS2300, BC2, BL2500, BL3, Bl2, BS1, BV8, BC4, A8

I think B&O is going to be discontinued soon if they continue like that :-(

Why they can't turn their iconic BC2 in to a Blu-ray drive is beyond me. Someone said the drive was different, but I'm sure they could keep the design, lower the drive slightly and make it fit.

    Re: BC2 discontinued?

It's to be discontinued before the end of the next financial quarter (if i remember correctly).  So, yes - it's definitely discontinued..

Not overly sure why B&O haven't made a sensibly priced Blu-Ray player - obviously not worth the investment.

Thanks Lee for the info always first with the important news.

If anyone knows of anythig ever produced by B&O that is or was sensibly priced please let us know.

Haven't sold one for 12 months brand new. Sold a few secondhand.

Main reason integrated DVD Bvis7, with the new Bvis 10 they could pick up?

Maybe they could have put a simple surround processor in there?  At least for the audio?

Wow, always liked the look of the BC 2.  Would love to have one, but it was basically overkill with the BS9000 setup upstairs.  Maybe I can pick up a new one to replace my DVD 1 for the home theatre set up, unless someone here can talk me out of it.  Would the BS9000 and BC 2 play well together in the same link system or would I just be buying an expensive DVD player?

How bizarre, i wonder what they have in store for us?? This was their only stand alone DVD player!!

No timers in the BV10 - if I had not had the BC2, I would have had to pull out one of my older systems as my avant used to act as the master. Incredible decision.

I must say I'm not really surprised that BC2 is being discontinued, I think it should have been out of production for a long time: how can B&O charge more than EUR 4,000 for a DVD/radio combo that doesn't even offer HDMI output & Blu-Ray playback??

What surprises me, however,  is that there is no BeoCenter 3 on the horizon...Sad

That makes alot more sense, essentially, just a lower spec socket unit.

Or you could use a beotime.

I do have one of those! But setting timers in the audio or video masters is preferable as you can tailor the times for different days. Almost as good as using a Beolink 7000!

    Re: BC2 discontinued?

BC2 DVD / CD/ FM / DAB is about to get a module to upgrade to DAB+ , announced last October by B&O , so I cant see the Video version going out of the product  range  for some time. I would love to see the BC2  have a Blue Ray DVD player - I would sell mine tomorrow to buy a BR version.

Apparently the Blu-Ray mechanism will not fit inside the BC2 and it is too expensive to retool.

It's true. Only the Audio Only version is discontinued. The DVD version lives on.
