How to connect 7 Pin DIN to 5 Pin DIN BM

So I bought a used 4004 TT with 7 Pin connector and my BM 3000-2 has 5 Pin connections.

Went to eBay and was searching for adapter/converter and saw an ad for a 5 pin to RCA and in his ad he adds that if you have 7 Pin connector you can....And I not sure what he is saying becasue of language issues, but thought he might be saying you can exclude pins 6 and 7 and then plug it in. Here are his exact words "If do you have a 7 Pol DIN male plug ,usually are  pin 6+7 screwed, it's can be removed."

Was wondering if anyone can add or clarify this.

You need a very small screwdriver. Pins 6 and 7 unscrew - you will notice they have a small slot in the end of them. Chris has a good suggestion in that you should tape them to the lead once unscrewed.

Here's a photo of a 7 pin DIN plug with pin 6 removed & pin 7 still in place. You can just make out the screw slot on pin 7.

    Hi,

I've got a Beomaster 2400-2 and a Beogram 2400 - but the -gram is missing pin 6 and 7 in the DIN-plug (so the remote-function is not working).

Anybody know how to get these? Any help will be appreciated – thanks!

You actually only need one! Only one pin is active. Martin has them I believe but they are not cheap - they take quite a bit of skill to make just the right size! The alternative is to take one from another product - as I said - they only need one!

You only actually need one pin to carry the datalink. I forget which one it is but chances are you will screw it into the wrong hole first time & have to then switch it over.

Very hard to get hold of now but fortuantely (for youSmile) it's the sort of thing I tend to hoard so I have a spare if you PM me your address.
