    BV7-40 - Noisy Fans

    Hi All

I have just bought a new 7-40 with integrated DVB & Blue-ray player.  Beautiful TV but I am really disappointed with the noise the fans make.  At low volume and during quiet scenes its almost unbearable!

Does anybody else have this issue?  I have been in contact with my supplier and they are lookig into it but I am not sure how we fix this problem (I cant beleive a TV this expensive doesnt have the quietest & most efficient fans in the market!)

    Any advice is greatfully received.

    Paul

Cold comfort, but some hope. You might want to subscribe to the below thread. It seems you have SW 7.0.5 which should be updated (hopefully).

    Hi

Call your dealer and have him install SW 8.02 on your new tv. This should solve your trouble.

We are many who experienced the same issues. Also be aware that there also is a new DVB-HD update to be released in week 14. This will hopefully solve the many troubles with the module.

    Hi Ehlerz,

can you confirm, that 8.02 resolves the issue with the high fan speed?

Have you installed it on your 7-40 MK IV (and have you had 7.05 previousely)?

I will call my dealer, when multiple 7-40 owners confirm, that it has been resolved and no other major bugs have been introduced.

    Hi Richu

I had the 7.05 but downgraded to 6.11 after experiencing noisy fans. The 8.02 update should as i am told resolve this issue, but i will get back to you later today when i myself have it installed.

Updated: SW 8.02 solving fannoise confirmed! Furthermore, smoother moving electronic curtains, and possibly also more stabile digital information in the top of the screen when switching channels.

    Re: BV7-40 - Noisy Fans

I had my 7-40 mk IV upgraded from 6.xx to 7.11a, due to the TV showing an overheatning message some times.

Did not have the fan noice before and do not have it after.

    Hi again

Apparently the update fixes slow channelshifting, slow loading EPG function, and introduce more overall stability. Furthermore, the DTV startuptime should be less than it is now.
