    AV9000 MasterLink Cable

I am in desperate need of a AV9000 MasterLink cable, I have tried connecting the CD player and TV by regular MasterLink but with no avail. Steve @ Sounds Heavenly tried to make me a cable and that didn't work! Liftestyle and MoreThan have scowered their stock room's and no body seems to have one!!

I therefore turn to the loyal BeoWorledrs to see if anyone can either offer up a solution to get the system to work with normal MasterLink or whether anyone has a spare cable that they would sell me!!

Any help is so greatly appreciated!!

What kind of cd player do you plan to use?

If its a B&O then the cd player goes through a Beomaster of some sort. The Beomaster then goes to Masterlink on the AV9000.

TV by Masterlink? I do not understand this part. What do you mean? Could you explain the complete setup?

On Beosystem AV 9000 there is a CD player in the Master control panel.

    Re: AV9000 MasterLink Cable

What I am trying to achieve is connecting the Master Control Panel (Ouverture looking CD player) to the AV9000 Television.

Eventhough the cable looks the same as ML it most certainly isnt and I really need some!

    Re: AV9000 MasterLink Cable

Strange. I`m quite sure my old AV9000, the early two way version, and MPAV were connected by a regular ML-cable......(?) If I remember correctly, there are two Masterlink type plugs. First for connection of TV with control center, 2nd for MPAV and for link systems. Are you sure, everything is properly connected?

If this doesn`t help, there is an AV9000 expert in Germany, Ulf Kiener, a Beoworld member mainly in the german forum. Member name is "Ulf".

See also: www.ulf-kiener.de. If he can`t help, nobody can....

    Good Luck

    Re: AV9000 MasterLink Cable

    Hi fishta,

I'm sorry that I couldn't locate a fully-wired Masterlink cable for you - I checked everywhere and I just can't get this type of cable any more.  This was only used by a few isolated B&O products including AV9000 for a few years and it used all 16 pins in the plug instead of just 9 with "normal" Masterlink cable.

It is worth noting that some versions of AV9000 will work with normal M/L cable, depending on the software level.  I can locate replacements for almost any B&O cable ever made, but unfortunately not the original "fully-wired" 16 pin Masterlink cable (although I will keep on trying!).

    Kind regards,

    Steve.

    It might be.

The 1610 kit is for use with other audio than the MPAV9000. If the ML cable is special witch this thread proves it is then its the solution to the problem.

Maybe a contact to seller for a upclose picture of the ML cabel should be done?

    Re: AV9000 MasterLink Cable

I had the same problem connecting an Ouverture to a AV9000. A normal ML cable will not work. You need to short circuit some cables in the ML. After that I had no problems at all.

Will contact my dealer in order to know exactly what needs to be done. Can't remember at this point.

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

    Re: AV9000 MasterLink Cable

    Hi,

You can use the normal masterlink cable but you have to make a short circuit between pin 4 (ML sense)and 12 on masterlink socket in MP AV9000 stereo

that have bin done in struer from serial number 10822537.
