Oh yes. 

What do you do when the TV is out of date and you need a new one ? scrape the diamonds off the plastic and  start again. This is all a bit too Dubai for me.

Look at the iPhone. Imagine how painful the first drop on the ground is.... or leaving it in the back of a taxi (which I have been known to do on occasion)
