Kilopoise damping grease - substitutes or sources?

Just fixed the lid mechanism on a Beocenter 5000. The thing was broken and had been stuck in one position for years, and as a result the damping grease was sort of hardened. It was no more merely "sticky" but rather so sticky you couldn't move that thing at all.

So now everything is cleaned and working again; but the lid is opening way too fast. Actually it feels like next time it will fly off and hit the ceiling.

Now the service manual says you should use Rocol Kilopoise grease, but you can only get that stuff in bulk and at horribly high prices.

So my question is: Has anyone ever found some substitute or knows where you can get that stuff at a reasonable price?

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

    Did you ask B&O ?
It was available as part number 3984005 as a glass jar apprx 6cm diameter and about the same height.
    Easily enough for 400 Beocenters.
Not sure about the cost though or if it's available in smaller amounts - if at all - but I suppose
    you could ask.

I'm sorry I never answered, but the problem sort of solved itself anyway.

The Beocenter was too big and too heavy for the purpose I had in mind, so I simply sold it on in the condition it was in….
