Connecting Beocord 9000 to a CD player?

    Hi all,

What would be the best way to connect a Beocord 9000 to a CD player to record from CDs? The available CD players are Beocenter 9500 or Ouverture.

    Thanks for your help.

Just plug it into the AUX socket. If it is an older 9500, it will use a TDA1541A DAC so I would favour that!

    Thank you, Peter.

What is this "TDA1541A DAC"? My BC9500 is type 2506 - is it relevant for this model type?

The 'A' at the end of the 1541A signifies the better DAC made by Philips as used in the BC9500 and BM4500 models amongst others. It's quite well thought of in audiophile circles - Peter will be able to elucidate more on this one as it's one of his favourites :)

That is an early one so has the Philips 16 bit mechanism with the TDA1541A DAC. This is the digital to analogue converter -  this particular one was used in some of the best CD players of the era and the smooth detail and sound quality is very highly thought of, even today. Do a google on TDA1541A and you will find all sorts of articles! Some of it is a bit over the top! The CD player in the 9500 is heavily based on the 5500 one - there are differences - but is a good one.
