Beolink 7000 Internal Pictures wanted .....................

    Who can help me ,

i am looking for pictures of the internals of a beolink 7000.

Is there anyone who has made pictures during a repair or rebuild of this lovely device ??

The service manual i have is a very poor copy , and does not show any details .

I took some here a few months ago.

As I have not yet finished the project (the BL7000 is still partially apart) I can probably take a few more if you are interested. Any specific areas?

1 what components are on the digital pcb ??

    2 details of the mechanic

    another question ,

has anyone ever tried to get another firmware on a unit ( so , 1540 with firmware 1.3 to version 2.x ) ???

There is a problem with the upgrade. There is no flash memory chip in the BL7000, it's a smd 27512 Eprom. So upgrading means removing/destroying the old chip and soldering a new one on the board.

But even this is not recommended. The cpu boards a different, there are at least 2 different layouts of the boards and probably the new Eprom version will not work.

But it is possible to replace the complete cpu board, the rest is compatible. A V1.3 cpu board can be replaced by a V3.1 RDS and will work. Tested.

What's on the cpu board? Really? 80c32 cpu, 6264 8K CMOS ram, 27512 Eprom, some CMOS decoders, 3025 Lithium cell...

its fairly easy to dismantle on of these (i used a big hammer LOL)

there are small covers over the screws on the rear but you only need to remove the two outer ones at the bottom of the top half (for the glass) and the other two are under the ir cover.

the service manual is on the site for download http://www.beoworld.org/manuals.asp?cid=6&rid=44

there are a lot less complicated as they look.
