    beolink 7000 newbie question

    Hi forum ,

    BL7000 newbie has a question.

I am very happy with the arrival of a very nice bl7000  Cake   to my collection .

It fills  the last position after 2 1000's  and a 5000 , all to drive my system 7000.

The only question i have is HOW to make this unit fall asleep Embarrassed

i have figured out the way to make it manually rise and drop  , but automatically it stays up  ( too much viagra ?? ) altough the unit switches off.

can someone please shine a bright light on this "maybe "problem .

That's the way it is supposed to work. If you have it sitting on a table, it will stay up until you pick it up.

Normally it sits in the charger. The mechanism that makes it sit up are two switches in the rearmost set of 'feet'. Put it on a book with these feet over the edge and it will not sit up.

    Re: beolink 7000 newbie question

Strange, I seem to remember in the original manual something on the lines of  "a mere touch of the panel, and Beolink 7000 wakes up and in vites you to....blah, blah, blah"

Perhaps that just refers to the display lighting up, rather than it sitting up.

    Poor me, never win owt!

    Re: beolink 7000 newbie question

    Just had a little play...

While sat up on the table, press "Panel" in red, the  "Move" in the blue.
When it lies down, press "exit" in blue.
Ten seconds later, it goes blank and to all intents and purposes, it looks dead.
    Then....

    Jandyt:

"a mere touch of the panel, and Beolink 7000 wakes up and in vites you to....blah, blah, blah"

    Poor me, never win owt!

    Re: beolink 7000 newbie question

I played a little bit more with mine. You can do PANEL -> SETUP -> MOVE to "MANUAL" (remember to STORE as well). Then, you can do the now familiar PANEL -> MOVE to get it to lie down. Wait for the timeout (or select OFF) and it will play dead. Now, when you tap it, it doesn't stand up and invite me to blah blah blah Laughing but works flat on the table!

But yes, it still won't go down automatically when turning off.

I'd bet the firmware will be on an SMD EPROM chip which will be next to impossible to replace without ruining the whole module even if you got the new contents from somewhere.
