aint sure how many of us have come across/read the book on "The Luxury Strategy" by J.N.Kapferer and V.Bastein. this definitely helps in understanding the rules and strategy of luxury brand management with apt examples. the book also has mentions of B&o (though stray) the more you read the more you could relate to B&o products.

Not sure I'll ever get round to reading it - does it contain anything truly insightful or does it just list the many ways to simultaneously massage people's egos and wallets at the same time?

I can't help thinking of the "major sucking up" scene from "Pretty Woman"!
