    MX7000, BS4, BL4000, and converter box - setup probs

    Hi all,

Not sure if this is correct forum!

Gort the above bits of kit, the bs4 is ml'd to the converter box which is in turn audio linked (7pin lead) to the MX the BL's are linked into the tv as well as a dvd1 and a vcr8000 - problem, used the pcg system to program it all - tv / vcr / dvd all work fine the bs will not boot up using a bl1000 or a beo4 - the tv is set up with powerlinks active etc but the bs will not talk to the tv or infact rreact to the remotes when programmed as per the pcg the system has also been setup as per the bs handbook with the same result!

If i replace the bs with an ouverture the system works perfectly - what am i doing / have done wrong?

    pcg audio - option 0 video option2.5

    manual audio - 0 video - 2

    Everything in one room

    hellllppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a beautiful afternoon here in finistere and have the pastis at hand however i would like to get the prob sorted before i hit the bottle!

    salut

Just guessing that it is something to do with master/slave relationship and the BS4 does not want to be the slave.

I'm sure that someone with the knowledge will be along soon to confirm or otherwise.

    Regards Graham

    graham,

you've confirmed a thought i had this afternoon whilst idly stood machining some ali shelf brackets - I suppose it might be backward compatibilityetc as the mx predates the bx by about 8 years or more with the tv although it has a multi std tuner in it so it must be one of the last batch

struck me thinking of pc's which are always claimed to be backward compatible but most of the time never are!

    thanks

    Hi all

An update - possibly egg on face time - because of relaying cables etc yesterday the units were unplugged etc from mains supply - and later rebooted so to speak -  worked fine in the last configuration , however thought I'd give it another go with my preferred config setup ie tv master bs slave et viola as the lingo here goes it worked fine - hey ho back to the original cable config!

I suppose the lesson is - always assume a logic problem and try rebooting the whole thing before shouting HELP!

All well now and I'm a happy bunny again!

    salut
