    Beolink Video Box Type 1615

I have found one of these in my garage this morning whilst having a bit of a clear out, it has Masterlink at one end, and a Datalink connection at the other

I plugged a masterlink cable from the 1615 into one of the Bosscom Masterlink wall boxes in the bedroom

I plugged a Datalink cable from the 1615 to my iPod, setup Option 6 on my Beo4 for the Ouverture downstairs to recognise the link room, but the experiment did not work :-(

this used to work when I had an MX 4002 TV in the bedroom, I just pressed LIST on the Beo4 until AV was displayed and then pressed TV to hear the audio in the bedroom on the Ouverture downstairs !

any ideas, I don't have the 4002 set anymore, I upgraded to an MX7000 which had no masterlink connection/socket.

You can do the same with the MX7000. If you have a dvd or settopbox, you can even watch and control these devices from your bedroom.

    MX7000 + 1615 = TV with masterlink.

wow, yes - that works exactly like when I used to have the MX4002

the problem is that this effectively takes the only "Audio Aux Link" connector on the MX7000 which is now connected to the 1615 box, so that means I cannot hook up the iPod, and I don't really want to use the TV anyway to do this via the DVD

does such a device exist where I can just plug my iPod into a very small box like the Beolink 1615 ?

There are no inputs on the 1615. It is a ML/AAL convertor. That's it.

Why don't you use one of the scarts to hook up your iPod?

Could you try a Powerlink splitter and plug your iPod and 1615 in to the same aux. input?? Worth a try...

because I was hoping not to connect the 1615 to a TV ( or anything ) , just the iPod, but have now figured out this is not possible !

good idea, but alas it did not work, and anyways, would prefer to use the 1615 in standalone mode ( without the TV)
