Hi all,

suddently one channel died. I have left channel only. I checked the amp and it's not. Then I checked the cartridge turning it upside down but it's not. Could you please tell me how do I check where the fault is ( I just have a voltmeter/ohmmeter)? This should be the muting board. In the picture there is the output din plug too.

 How do I check the muting switch?

If you are sure it is not the amplifier and it is definitely the Beogram, the commonest fault will be the cartridge. If you have excluded this, you need to test the continuity of the wiring in the arm to the DIN plug. The simplest way would be to take the drive belt off the platter and set the Beogram to play without a cartridge. One the arm solenoid clicks, you can then test continuity from the pins to the plug.

I'm at work now so I cant' check, but I'm almost sure I'll find that there's no continuity in the right channel. How do I go deeper into the issue?

well.... "much ado for nothing".

I tested the connection from point 3 and 5 of the muting board and the exit din pins. The red cable ( right channel) was interrupted

So I decided to dismantle that "well packed" din socket and resoldered the red cable that was detached.....
