What a train wreck! Super Angry

Your experience? Or just based on experiences of other members who unfortunately got a pre-improved version?

The older handsets are compatible with the new base but you don't have the full benefits.

    Exactly. Keyword: pre-improved!

The point is: Why release something that isn't fit for its purpose and needs to be updated to even function?

This is not the B&o that I (we) grew up with... THAT is the "train wreck".

    IMHO, of course. Big Smile

Beocom6000 Mk1 handsets are NOT compatible with Beoline2. The PSTN base is the only one deemed to be compatible with both Beocom6000/1 and Beocom5. The PSTN base is discontinued, though second-hand ones appear occasionally.

Accoording to the pdf, the mkI should be the first registered handset to the beoline2 base. And then register the BC5. If a BC 5 is registered before the mkI's, then you should unregister the BC 5 first and start with the mkI first.

In this setup the beoline 2 should go in a backwardscompatibility mode.

That's what the diagram tells me.

The chart I saw shows that the Mark I is not compatible with Beoline2. Moreover, having been assured that the chart was wrong, I was sold a BeoLine2. The chart is right - it does not work - and the Beoline2 went back. Beocom6000 Mark II are OK with Beoline2, but not Mark I.

That is a different chart then the pdf I showed.

The one I showed, tells me that both the mkI and II are compatible with the beoline 2.

    So, this isn't right.

But on the other hand accoording to the chart the BC5 not compatible with the beoline ISDN.

And my experience with the beoline ISDN and 5 mkI 's and a BC 5 is positive. No problems at all.

    Tom,

I agree with you. This is horrible thing. Speaker unit is fine but the handset volume, to me 7/8 is still 1/2 level of any other phone. Maybe I just have to get used to it... or buy another BT headset to connect to.

Get a beocom 6000! Much better quality and design in my opinion. You also recognise its design immediately unlike beocom 5, similar in design to many other pieces of junk on the market.
