    Beocord 3300

I have a Beosystem 3300 which has been put away for some time. When I connected it again the other day I experienced a few problems. CD player didn't read the cds. Problem solved to some extent. Lid didn't open. Problem not solved, but I have an idea how to solve the problem.

Next problem was the Beocord. When I touch the PLAY button it lights up, a relay clicks and STOP lights up. Same thing happens when I touch the other buttons, they light up, relay clicks and STOP lights up. Can anybody help with a solution to the problem. I don't use the Beocord much, but I hate having it hanging on the wall not working.......

Probably bad belts (available). Can you hear the motor running
if you place your ear to the Beocord ?

OK Martin. I'll do that when I find out what has to be replaced.

I've had a look inside the Beocord. I didn't find any broken belts, but does everything look alright? The motor starts running when I press PLAY, but a relay clicks and STOP lights up.

Those belts look Ok but if you touch any of those they might simply drop out. They are very likely just loose and will just slip around the pulleys. You can also try to have a look on the mech. when you press PLAY and see what happens, does any of the belts slip or is anything turning. You can also try to turn the big flywheel around and see if the belts follow.

When I turn the motor around the belt slips on the big flywheel. So I have sent Martin a PM to ask for a replacement belt.

The belt kit includes all three belts and it's definitively worth replacing them all - small cost for a long-lasting repair.

It's always a pleasure to help any Beocord back to life by a simple belt-replacement. I have experienced it already many times, hopefully yours BC will give you the same pleasure and you will enjoy the deck. Best wishes with the repair. Yes - thumbs up

Did you sort out the lid problem on the CD3300 yet?

It is likely to be the belt, Maplins sell a 46mm cassette belt which will do the job (just replaced one myself on a CD3300 with the same problem). I can send you one if you need for cost price.

    Chris.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.

No I haven't sorted out the lid problem yet. I've just received a capacitor kit from Dillen and I am going to replace the capacitors very soon. Therefore it would be nice if I could fix the lid problem at the same time, so I shall definitely try to replace the belt.

I really appreciate your kind offer to send me a belt, but it would be much easier for both of us, if I order the belt myself at Maplins.

I shall return to this thread with a status on the replacements.

I've just found out that Maplins only ship to The UK. I've sent them an email in order to persuade them to send such a small item to Denmark. If their reply is negativ I might accept your kind offer.
