TripEnglish:
It's not as big as it looks. If it's installed low on a wall it will look very elegant.
Excellent - I look forward to seeing some more pictures in a real room situation!

The more I look at the pictures, the more I love it.
Maybe you can "open" up the speakers so you have 2 parts in terms of wall mounting...
Stunning design, I don't have a reason for buying it but I'm already calculating / finding a excuse to buy one...
Hey, you guys up there in Struer, if you read this:
This is it!, This is the thing we want from you, stunning design like nothing else on the market and (hopefully) a good performance with an adequate pricing!
I'm excited to hear specs from this thing....
Best

Dear All:
What is it? Is it a sub?
Nice aluminum look; though plain.

Looks beautiful! Hey for some reason the pictures don't open, can someone post them to this thread so we can all view the pictures?

BeoLab 11

News from Bang & Olufsen!
A new BeoLab11 subwoofer with 250 watt ICEpower, among other based on a technology which makes it free of vibration. The subwoofer has a tulip-shaped design that offers multiple placement options, while is possible to place it on the floor or mount it on the wall. BeoLab 11 is designed to play along with the smaller versions in BeoLab sortimanget or bass through the rear speaker in a surround setup. BeoLab 11 weighs just over 6 kg, is approximately 25 cm in diameter and 35 cm high. 2 pieces 13cm speakers are located opposite each other as "push pull".
The sale is expected to spring 2010, and the price will be ca.10.000 Dkr.

Looks a really interesting concept. Side-on it reminds me of a 1950's Thermos Jug!
Re the vibration free concept: presumably both halves vibrate to reinforce and amplify the sound emitted but the unit itself tends not to vibrate. Does that mean that with a wall mounted unit there will be less vibration delivered to the wall (and less annoyance for neighbours?)

As I understand the "push-pull" concept here, the drivers are in the same phase - i.e both move in and both out at the same time. If they are balanced around the center of the gravity of the whole unit, it doesn't move at all with the drivers. So it should at least vibrate a lot less than a single driver sub.
The halves (or the tulip petals if you wish) are probably designed to be as acoustically dead as possible. They even seem to be bridged together at the top.

Teletom:
I'am just wondering:...... If you imagine only one half of the Beolab 11, could that be the design or shape of B&O's next generation Beolab (compact) speakers....?
It could be. But it isn't.

Sorry to ask, but how is this thing supposed to be cleaned? The black gap between the two shells seems to be an ideal spot to collect plenty of dust. Another question: The mentioned price of DKr. 10.000,- is suspiciously low (around EUR 1.400,-). What´s the catch? And what about the quality of the aluminium shells? Is this the true B&O stuff from the golden age? Or the cheap, un-anodized surface introduced with the base of bs4 (which is tarnishing every now and then and has to be cleaned like a piece of cheesy junk from your average home-improvement market)?
.b
PS: Otherwise I like it a lot.

I had the same concern when I looked at the pictures: most B&O owners must have a full-time housemaid for this subwoofer, it is a perfect dust-trap!
I imagine the spiders, geckos and cockroaches having a lot of fun with this one at home, I already have trouble cleaning the Lab 3 lenses..
Besides, how is it going to be wall-mounted? Vertically with a special bracket, or screwed at the base like a BeoVox Cona?
Reunion Island is greeting you!

I use the 'pledge grab-it' dusters on my B&o, they'd be perfect for something like this too...

That looks superb.
Seems feminine/organic in design? quite a change from the strong masculine designs of the 5 & 9? is this something to expect?
