    Beogram 7000 record deck

    Hi you guys,

I just want to share my newest buy with you. Bought a fantastic working Beogram 7000 with a MMC2 in good condition. Got it for 230 GBP, from this really nice guy who was selling it for his mother-in-law.

I think the MMC2 sounds fine, but it is the original from when the recordplayer was bought. He believed it was bought around 1994. That is 15-16 years ago.

So my question is: Should I buy a new SMMC4 or maybe something else ?

I took a picture of "the beauty". Big Smile

    Regards

    Claus

    Congratulations!

My advice is to keep using the MMC2 as long as it works fine. You won't win anything by "saving" it, as the suspension will age regardless if you use it or not. When it finally gives up, or you're not happy with the sound anymore, or the stylus is obviously worn, then you can consider either having it retipped or getting an SMMC - or both.

    That's sound advice from Mika.

    I would do exactly that.

    Nice deck Claus!
    Nice signature too.
I am trying to work out what the deck is sitting on in your picture.

Looks like another deck to me - is there a prize for guessing correctly?Big Smile

Yes, nice deck. I have two of them. i would also follow Mika's advice. One of my decks needs a bit more stylus pressure to sound really good... I'm not sure what this means... MMC2 on its way out?

    Thanks for all your responses.

And to Chris - there is no prize. LOL Wink (It's a Rega P2 deck underneath)
