    Synchronization problem with BV 8-40

    Dear All,

Since a few months I own a BV 8-40 to which I've connected a PS3 through HDMI and scart. I'm using this setup to stream my music. In itself this is a very neat solution, there is however one major setback. If I play music in the livingroom and the kitchen (where I have a Beolab 3500) there is a synchronisation issue between the both. I suspect that the decoder in the BV 8 is taking more time to process than the analog signal through the BL 3500. The difference is only a few milliseconds, but very annoying. My B&O dealer can't help me, so I am looking for suggestions.

thanks in advance for any help given

As far as I remember: no solution available, check other threads on this forum (audio delay)

Re: Synchronization problem with BV 8-40

This is in my opinion a HUGGGGGEEEEEEE problem as i have 5 rooms linked close to each other, and often play in every room simultaneously. Only solution would be to delay the Masterlinksignals accordingly which as i am told, is not possible..  SO why B&O has not thought about this is amazing. Masterlink is a huge B&O asset, and with everything being digitalized, it now does not work anymore.

SO untill B&O introduce their new masterlink solution, and we have to rewire everything in our setup, i guess we and our +40.000$ system will just have to live with it...:-(

What surprises me however, is that also analoge outputs connected to my main room tv is delayed in linkrooms. Why is this?

If i connect my Macbook Pro to the red/white Camera input on the side of my BV 7-40 MK IV, signals are delayed aswell. If i connect my macbook to the AUX on my BS3000, the signal is NOT delayed. Can anyone explain this?

    Hi there,

I am not sure this solution is viable with beovision 8-40, but I had a sound delay issue with my beovision 7-40 MKIII. In the service menu you will find sound adjustments and the default value for sound delay was 90ms. I simply set that back to 0ms and I have a perfectly synchronized sound now.

    Regards

There is another thread that describes a device to overcome the delay issue.

    Cheers,

    Hi Nobsi

That is correct, but the default sound delay is there for a reason. If you set this to zero, all your linkrooms will be in synch, but your mainroom will not when watching say Bluray. So on my MK IV i have to choose which on i can live with best. Not being able to watch anything connected with HDMI on my mainroom tv AND having sound in every room, or vice versa...
