Officially confirmed price in Denmark will be DKK 54,990 (EUR 7,390 or USD 9,875) - I assume this to be without extras such as stand, special coating etc.

Are there already any informations considering the price for the BV 10-46 in Germany?

After reading the specs on the official B&O site, i do not see any difference between the 10-40 and the 10-46 beside the screen size, so is there any difference?

Not a technical change but a "cosmetic" one :

Apparently, the back of the TV is white instead of black.

Is there any improvement in bass response due to the size increase?

So 2400 € for 6 inches and white back instead of a black one....... Huh? is this really "reasonable pricing"....?

Nobody ever promised "reasonable pricing" - B&O will charge what they believe customers are able and willing to pay. o)

This is not my usual role but the screen is ~32% larger by area!

According to the MRP listed on Whathifi site the Samsung 46" is £1930 while the 40" is £1390 - a 39% difference.

B&O has also changed something regarding the LED backlight I was told. I guess we know for sure on the 14th of April.

As per the official press release, the LED backlighting is no more "full edge", but only top & bottom due to technological progress.

A fair comment. Prices are based on demand, not supply. However much people moan on this board (about B&O prices, in 2010), there is enough demand to match their SRPs. If the demand dropped, over a sustained period of time, the prices of the products would reduce, too. If B&O know they can get these prices from their customers, they will.

I was in a B&O store the other day and someone walked in off the street, spent some time looking at the BV7-55 v BV9, then bought the entire thing on his credit card, without hesitation. This is the customer base that B&O go after. The same generation that made oodles of cash from buying flats at £45,000 before 1995, and have gone on to sell their property at 4x the original cost, in 2009. Believe me, there are more of these people in the UK, than you think!

I think the BV10-46 is a 'fair' price, by B&O standards, at £7200 (hoping that price includes the stand!). I'm seriously thinking of trading my always-problematic BV7-40 in against a BV10-46, soon. Yes, it's a downgrade and I'll need to pay an 'upgrade' fee, but I'm tempted.

That's a bit worrying. Sounds like the reduced the LED count to save money, citing 'technological progress' as an excuse Huh?

It's actually to meet power consumption guidelines in its bracket or something like that. It's not so much a technical upgrade or downgrade. The user won't be able to tell the difference.

Absolutely correct. If I intended to pay these amounts for a TV, I would expect the TV to be able to tidy our kitchen, bathrooms and the childrens rooms Smile.

From the B&O Press Release, regarding the new panel:

"The LCD panel inside offers the latest in edge-type LED technology with the LEDs placed at two sides only – top and bottom of the panel – as the efficiency of the LEDs has improved significantly and this optimises the picture uniformity."

I was told yesterday that the new panel (the latest evolution from Samsung) effectively eradicates visible backlight clouding issues some BeoVision 10s (such as mine) have suffered from, hence the mention of the optimized picture uniformity, I suspect. The new panel will also be implemented in the 40" model. So it is in fact a slight improvement, and not cutting costs or anything.

This is good news, and I welcome the BeoVision 10 with the new panel-type all the way to my home. I've been offered a very kind exchange solution by my dealer. Deliveries start in the summer, and I look forward to that.

In the meanwhile, for me it's time to buy the BeoLab 11, which will be available shortly.

Interesting bit about the new "cloudless" panel will also be installed in the 40". Does anyone know when that would be implemented? I just placed an order for a BV 10-40 (to be delivered mid-May) but would want to make sure it has the newer panel! The clouding issues of the old panel is a worrisome aspect for sure. Surprise

I wonder if the "cloudless" breakthrough is related to turning off the other two sides of LED's. Have the brightest whites been sacrificed for deeper, more even blacks? If it's better then great, except why was it necessary for four sided LED's in the first place.

    Pardon me for being suspicious!
