I think you may be confused about what an "LED screen" actually is. Your BV-7 is an LCD screen with fluorescent tube backlighting - like the kind of lights you see on the ceiling in a typical office building or doctor's office. Newer LCD televisions have LED backlighting instead of fluorescent. LED lights (light emitting diode) are the kind you see on digital clocks and the new tiny flashlights you see on keychains, but much more powerful. Both technologies are still used in conjunction with LCD (liquid crystal display) panel screens.
LED is a better lighting system because of longer bulb life and the consumption of less energy than fluorescent tubes. They also allow better contrast and dark images on an LCD panel.
So there really is no such thing as an LED panel vs. an LCD panel.... Only LED lighting vs. FLUORESCENT lighting.
The current BeoVision 7-40 is still fluorescent backlit technology - which is the same as it was in 2007. Hopefully it will be updated.
