Is it possible to connect speakers to my Beovision 3-32?

Sorry for a probably silly question....I have a sony amplifier with  speakers and subwoofer for Dolby Surround - and I have a Beovision 3-32 with  built in Dolby surround - my question is can I connect the speakers directly into the tv or will it work only with B&O speakers ? If not why not? Thanks for any reply

The 5 powerlink sockets (where B&O active speakers are attached) output audio signals that are at line level, i.e. they need to be amplified -- the B&O active speakers have their own internal amplifiers.

Does your sony amplifier have line level input sockets?

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

    Hi Franca,

As long as your Sony amplifier has RCA (phono) line inputs, then Yes, you can connect from one of the Powerlink sockets on your BV3-32 into the Sony system.  As the Powerlink outputs are volume-controlled, you will probably find that you need to turn the Sony volume fairly high (eg. 50-75%) to get the surround speakers to match the internal TV speakers.  Depending on how many input channels the Sony system has, this will dictate how many input cables you need and how to connect them, but baslically each Powerlink socket contains left and right audio channels, so you will need one cable for stereo sound, or four four full 7.1 surround (including subwoofer and centre).

Hope this helps, but if you can tell us the specifics of which Sony system you have, I can give you more detailed ideas!

    Kind regards,

    Steve.
