    2010 - TIME FOR A NEW PROJECT - WHICH ONE ????

    Hi everyone, been a while............................

    So it's 2010 - new house - new spare room - do i need more B&O?

2 years collecting vintage systems and really happy with my catch.............

Numerous Avant T.V.'s all refinished in white.

    Beogram 4002, Beomaster 3000.2.

Complete 8000 system - with 4 number Beovox S80.2 in white!!!!

    Complete 4500 system Penta 1's.

    Beocenter 9000 / Penta 2's.

So I need a new challenge - keeping Retro, where should I go, what should I be looking for??

    Interseted in your thoughts,

    Cheers

Welcome back - as to your first question, of course you do Smile

Seems like you have pretty much seen most of the '70s and '80s... except the stack systems or the 5000/7000 series music centres.

If you want to go further back in time, a Beolab 5000 + Beomaster 5000 pair would be nice! If you don't care about having "correct" speakers, they will be great with just about any passives and not take that much space.

Or if you don't want / need a heavy system, any of the one piece table radios (Beomaster 900K, 800, 1400) would be great for just listening to radio. Of course you can connect a turntable or any other source to them as well, but I like the "keep it simple" approach they offer.

    Nice collection :)

How about a Beosystem 6000 Quad? You could use your 4002 with a BM6000 in the initial stages, and you'll have one of the most iconic and beautiful systems to boot. There's a gold star for anyone who can find and actually use a 3 head Beocord 5000 too - that's committment to the B&O cause!

Beolab 5000 system is the obvious choice. Best built system available and still one of the best sounding. Get one of the rare Beogram 3000 turntables and a pair of cubes and you will have a real classic. Probably the one system I will always keep, along with my Beomaster 4401 of course!

    Some suggestions from me:

    - Beo Cinema in your extra room .... (to modern? BV5?)

    - upgrading your Penta's with higher spec electronics .....

    - upgrading your BC9000 with higher spec electronics .....

    - system 5500 alu or white with BL7000 remote.

    Regards, Robert

Would you be so kind to share images of the white Avants? How did you refinish them? Thanks
