BeoVision 10 and video streaming question

Can somebody tell me what would be the best solution for streaming videos in avi, divx or similar format to BeoVision 10?

    Which streamer do you recommend?

How about playing videos from PC via BeoVision 10? Is HDMI to HDMI enough?

That should do it. My Mac doesn´t have a HDMI, so my B&O dealer has ordered a HDMI expander where we shall use a DVI to HDMI + a separate phono signal to get both sound and vision. The DVI has no sound, but the HDMI does.

    I use a Tvix 6500HD with my BV10. Connected via PUC it's a perfect adon to B&O.

Which mac is it?? On never Macs, the headphone jack doubles as a digital output, so it's possible to get a surround output from it. But you might need an adapter to convert the mini-Toslink used in the Mac to digital coax used by B&O, ( if they still use these, they did on the Avant.)

You can also get a mini-displayport to HDMI converter if your Mac is less then a year old, such as this: http://gizmodo.com/5380669/mini-displayport-to-hdmi-adapter-with-digital-audio-review

These adaptors are also available where the audio is taken from the digital output instead of the USB port.

It´s a Mac Book Pro, maybe 1,5 years old. Are you saying there is an easyer way than to use the DVI to HDMI sollution?

I'm afraid not. Mac sucks when it comes HDTV connection because they refuse to use the HDMI standard or to incorporate sound in their newer Macs with mini-displayport.

In your case DVI to HDMI is the easiest by far, but does not give you any sound. There are solutions like this: http://www.amazon.com/DVI-I-Dual-Converter-SPDIF-Audio/dp/B0015YYOQQ but the one I link to don't seem very good when you read the reviews, although there are more expensive ones, such as http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=3570.

If you don't mind running 2 cables then the easiest is a DVI to HDMI cable and a separate audio cable, either a normal mini-jack for stereo or toslink + adaptor for surround.
