i've just been given a beogram 2000 that was sitting in a friends' basement    it's running slowly   so i need a belt   long long and wide would this belt be?    and   is it normal for the tonearm to be very stiff   when i cue it across a record  it is hard to do so

I wouldn't blame the belt as the first thing, I think I would concentrate on
the motor and speed setting mech., cleaning and lubricating.
Will it run faster as it warms up a bit (10-20 minutes) ?
Have you losened the (three) transport safety screws ?
