BeoVision 8, BeoVision 10 or BeoVision 7 with 40'' screen

Which new TV from B&O would you buy now: BeoVision 8, BeoVision 10 or BeoVision 7 with 40'' screen, when you also think on money?

What is best value for money in terms of performance, screen quality, conectivity etc?

    1) BV10,

    2) BV8

    3) BV7

In my opinion the BV7 is not showing so much more value than the price suggests. Even with the BV8 you have lots of possibilities and the picture is like the same (apart from Anti reflexion glass).

    BeoVision 8-40 / BeoVision 8-32 / Beovision 6-26 / BeoSound 3200 / BeoSound 1 / BeoLab 3 /  Beolab 6000 / Beolab 2000 / Beoport / Beomedia 1 / 3* Beo4 /BeoCom 5 with VOIP

Re: BeoVision 8, BeoVision 10 or BeoVision 7 with 40'' screen

In my opinion, the BeoVision 10 currently represents the best value in the 40 inch B&O lineup. It has superior LCD panel technology and still gives you a nice surround sound processor like the BV-7. The BeoVision 7 uses older LCD panel technology, but offers digital image enhancement for lower resolution sources such as DVD and older television shows. If you use only HD sources, you'll never miss those enhancement features of the BV-7.

Of course, the BV-7 has the Blu-Ray player option - cool, but not necessarily a deal breaker for the BV-10 because it's double the price of the BV-10.

I still think the BeoVision 7 is the nicest-looking TV in the lineup, but I have yet to see the BeoVision 10 in person and could change my mind once I do.

BeoVision 7-55 3D, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound 8, BeoLab 7-6, BeoLab Penta III, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 2, LC-1, BeoTime (analog clock), Form 1 headphones, Beo 4 remote.

Re: BeoVision 8, BeoVision 10 or BeoVision 7 with 40'' screen

I think the Beovision 7 is best value overall. with the 7.4 centre ALT speaker, it sounds amazing. However, i think the new Beovision 10 is also a beautiful TV. I guess I like the fact that the 7-40 is very much a piece of furniture while the b10 is designed to fit in with ur art on the walls. As a 7-40 owner, I am still amazed and pleased at peoples reaction when tey come and see it - its such a strong design and makes a statement.

I tried the Beovision 8 and while I liked it and it  is well priced, i think overall  i prefer the other TV's. Having said that, the B-8 is also a beautiful design and stands towering over most other makes of TV. With very few exceptions, these  are  bland and lacking in any aestethic value. So my choice is

Beovision 7 -40 (mine is mark 111 with ordinary DVD)

    Beovision 10 - 40

    Beovision 8

And damn lucky you are if you  own  any of the above B&O Tv's!!!!!!!

BeoVision 7-40 MKIV with BeoLab 7-4 Vertical speaker, BeoSound 9000 CD/Tuner, Speakers are a pair of  BeoLab 5 in Black with a pair of BeoLab 4000 as rear speakers, and in bedroom BeoCentre 6-26 with BeoLab 8000's. Both the Kitchen and bathroom have Beolab3500's. BeoCom 2 and BeoCom 5 phones. Beo 6 and Beo4 remotes. LATEST ADDITION: Beogram 7000 with MMC2 stylus....

    Hi,

I purchased a 7-55 after comparing with the 10-40 and the 7-40. In terms of picture quality, the 7-55 comes first followed by the 10-40 and the older 7-40. Apparently the 7-40 panel has been upgraded now. The sound rendered by the 7-6 loudspeaker is incomparable with the inbuilt speaker of the 10-40. In terms of pricing however, the 10-40 is the best value for money.

I have found issues with the picture quality of the 7-55 and reported them. They include visible adjustments to the image quality while the unit is working. Also low quality feeds produce washed out colors and artificial images that are not appealing. Hope they respond soon.

    Hope this helps!

    With regards,

    Arun

The visible adjustments are probably just visionclear at work , the photo sensor changes contrast and brightness on the fly.

It can be quite disconcerting when you first see it at work.

Personally if I blew £12k on a tv I'd want it to be perfect.

Re: BeoVision 8, BeoVision 10 or BeoVision 7 with 40'' screen

To me a B&O tv has to be the complete package. Every time i go through this selection in my head i always end up looking and coveting the 7.

Its not just the screen but how its presented, and with its speaker.

The 8 looks cheap(£4000 gets you ALOT of competition) and from what i hear from a used B&O retailer, underneath its as cheap aswell. Not B&O

The 10 i naturally like as it uses cutting edge technology, but just doesn't have the same sense of occasion i like in B&O products. I could get a great Samsung screen for £5000 less of similar style.

Like the wife, beauty is in the eye of the beholderWink Now where are my bloody sausages woman

A Beovision 10-40 in black and red fret on order, Beo4, Beo6, many A8's, a pair of white and yellow Form 2's, Beocom 4, 28 inch Avant RF DVD, Apple TV and a wife that loves this stuff as much as i do!

I agree , the 7 ticks all the boxes for me too.

Although the 55 is just TOO big imo , the 40 is just right.

I think the problem with a screen the seize of the 55 is it really shows up all imperfections in source and knowing the low bit rate of sd tv , particularly in the UK , that's a downer.

The only real problem I have with the 7 is the lack of inputs , it's got 4 , but 2 are taken up so there's only 2 available.

What exactly is the point of the dvb hdmi ? Can't you just have 3 hdmi's and use sky.

I'd like to connect a mac mini , a sky box and an apple tv to one and it looks like I'd run out of inputs ! :(

This decision is also my current agony for our main TV; influences include unit placement.

In fact when I look at the best of each of them, I want a hybrid :-)

speakers of the BV7, looks of BV10, price and placement of BV8

I disagree with others about the BV8 ... I have not looked inside at the build quality, but I like the style, texture, capabilities: what I would add is a better centre speaker.

As for the existence of a BluRay player that I pestered my poor dealer to death over ... I am slowly accepting what others have always said: it is becoming marginalised by digital communications

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

I'd be tempted to do that.  You can disable it in the software.

I'd happily buy one without the module and save the cash, but unfortunately selling a TV without Freeview capability in the UK isn't allowed anymore.  So it's a mandatory optional extra - a bit of an oxymoron.

So that's what the dvb module on hdmi 2 is for , I wondered what that was all about.

Why on earth couldn't they fit it onto the motherboard , looks like an afterthought to me , using up a precious hdmi port.

I would add a motorised table and floor stand. All LX/MX (the TV this is supposed to replace) had them. It's a B&O essential for a main room TV.

Re: BeoVision 8, BeoVision 10 or BeoVision 7 with 40'' screen

I just bought a BV8-40 so that was my choice.

I think most of this is personal taste.  I think the BV10 should be hung on the wall.  I think the BV7 should be a room's "centerpiece" (and also begins to see value when one actually needs the BeoSystem 3 functionality - I didn't).  I needed a TV that fit on a shelf, and doesn't scream "look at me".   To my eyes, the BV8 picture is simply amazing.  I don't know how the others could be that much better because I don't see much room for improvement (but then, I am by no means a "videophile").  Note that if you're in the US (like me), the specs may be different - we have the MkII which has a faster screen and no "freeview" receiver.

They all have the B&O video processing engine, and this makes the difference (IMHO) over other brands.

I had a similar dilema choosing between a BV10 and BV7-40 and decided on a used BV7 -40 MK3 for the functionality and picture quality.

just amazed by it now i have a 7 speaker setup to go with a projector , changing the roles of the speakers when watching tv etc

Are you not thinking to BeoCenter3 + BV4?

Looking to second live offers, can be a good set for the value... IMHO.

Re: BeoVision 8, BeoVision 10 or BeoVision 7 with 40'' screen

If you care for sound, it has to be:

    - BV7 (it simply overwhelms the rest)

    - BV10

    - BV8

If you are not thinking of a 5.1 setup:

    - BV10

    - BV7

    - BV8

Now I agree any of these sets will give you lots of satisfaction.
