    Loewe 32 media

Review of Loewe 32 with built-in PVR. Reviewer makes passing reference to B&O and Georg Jensen (maybe there are some silver components in there! Laughing) Concludes that the TV is rather expensive at £2300. Personally, I'm not too struck by the design.

As with B&O, you pay your money and make your choice. If the reviewer thinks this set with an in-built PVR is expensive, goodness knows what he or she would rate the 'value' of B&O!

    Flappo

Totally agree, as a B&O dealer we considered opening an additional shop selling Loewe also.

Went to the Loewe factory saw the products close up, very good but as you say B&O beats them in every respect.

Struer has had its problems no doubt in the last 18 months however  with the new CEO and some great new products we now love the brand more than ever.

To everyone at BeoWorld hope you all have a wonderful festive season and good luck for 2010!

    Agree.

The design is poor, especially the stand. ( By the way, is Minimalist now " Nordic " ? ).

And Georg Jensen ?  Someone didn't do her homework, or more likely does not know what she is talking about.

Hmmm I seem to detect a little bit of snobbery going on here Hmm. My family has had a Loewe Spheros 42HD plasma for many years, and while quality and fit and finish (and of course sound) are not up to the level of B&O, neither are they simply "Sonys with bits of plastic stuck on". Many of their designs do look good, from a few feet away.

    Re: Loewe 32 media

i do not see where the above negative and false statements are coming from. First of all, Loewe is working mainly with Sharp and not with Sony, more over, Sharp ownes nearly 30% of the company (http://www.loewe.be/be-nl/loewe-nv/investor-relations/loewe-share/share-shareholder-structure/share.html).

Secondly if you have a look at the products, the are quite well built and offer a bunch of interesting features like consumer selectable colors, integrated HD recorder, multiple (HD) tuners, smart card integration, multi-media support, good integration with Apple products.

I agree, B&O offers a better visual appearance and better sound, however you pay a premium for that as well and still lacks some of the features of Loewe.

I decided in the end to go for B&O (BV10), however, Loewe was and is in mine opinion a very capable contender. Even more with there new product line and the opening of dedicated shops and close cooperation with (German based) domotica vendors.

Steady on! I don't think I said or inferred in any way that they were. To continue the sporting metaphor, they may not be in the same 'league', but they play the same game, albeit perhaps to a different standard.

To repeat, you pay your money and make your choice, either from the lower end or top end of the market.

This may come as a surprise Flappo, but some people cannot afford B&O, nevertheless they may want a degree of style (in their eyes) and something a little bit different. Difficult to believe I know.
